Contrary to fake news making the rounds, the Federal Ministry of Education has issued a statement saying its decision to close schools, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, remains in force.

“The ministry has not directed the reopening of any school at any level.

The purported press release by the minister to that effect is a clear forgery as it did not emanate from the minister,” the statement signed by the Director Press, Ben Bem Goong, said.

The statement advised the public to disregard all fake stories that appear to be news in the mass media. In a related development, Mr Goong has said that government does not blame vice chancellors for the strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

Finally I made FTC with Glo. Hahahahahahaha. Unbelievable.

Back to the topic: I think the Ministry of education in each state should start teaching pupils and students via dedicated TV channels. They should take it very seriously. It is unfair to leave kids unattended to academically for a long time

Totally in support...

Every secondary human need needs to remain on hold for now.

No parent will be foolish to risk his or her children attending school this period

Schools won't resume till further notice, it will take alot of time. The virus is showing no mercy and it not leaving anytime soon. Reopening schools won't be a good decision. Had it been Nigeria was a country, online classes should have been implemented

We know. No parent will release their kids for school until the last covid-19 case is discharged. Children easily spread diseases among themselves so until all is cleared, no reopening of schools. Especialy primary and secondary schools. From the look of things, the earliest schools will reopen is September, 2020. As for universities, when government is ready to settle ASUU schools will open cos it is not about covid-19 alone.
