What exactly do these women expect from the government?

Lift the ban, open the border, open our airports?

provide food for the people or open the state.

they will allow people to come from Lagos and other states but won't allow deltans to move around

Whereas COVID-19 has led to the death of about 11 patients to date (Wednesday), law enforcement agents have extrajudicially executed 18 persons to enforce the regulations.

I want the Government to lift this lockdown and open the border so that this Coronavirus virus will wipe the entire country since we are feeling to wise and stubborn to obey the "Stay at home" order from the Government.

Rubbish!!!

When kids are cutting IROKO tree in the farm, it's only the elders that knows where the tree would fall.
Please for God sake keep basking in your plenty, while they go out to demand their survival.
But remember,if this continues, you will soon be one of them begging to survive .

Shut up there, that you are one of the privileged doesn't mean you shouldn't have sense. It's better the virus kills us than for us to die slowly and painful death due to hunger. So shut up and have a little empathy for the dead woman.

man, covid cannot wipe entire nation. 90% will recover without special treatment. mortality rate is 2 to 5%. if 5% of Nigeria die and economic activity continues.95% survivors will have herd immunity against covid19. i am saying this because govt cannot say lockdown without palliative measures.

I'm not surprised because Nigeria security forces are not yet familiar with protests. By the time the inevitable big protest comes, which I will be part of, they should be ready to kill all of us or bow to our request.
Intimidation doesn't stop revolution. It only aids it
Unfortunately, the so called big protest may never come

This reminds me of the movie walking dead, people will turn against people and sometimes create a colony and attack outsiders.
Food sellers are now scared to go and restock because of insecurity.

people are going about their normal business today as if there is no lockdown.

better for Coronavirus to kill than for hunger to kill

Which common man has the Corona thing hospitalized or even killed??! They think most of us Nigerians are not already infected...

I believe they know this is out of their hands... Nature has been doing their job for them by keeping most citizens healthy despite being infected since early March.

Tomorrow, they will beat their chests and claim the lousy lock down prevented massive deaths from the virus... Such jokers!!!

12 dead of Corona Virus, 18 dead by the police. We just donot have the capacity. Received security reports that communual crime has emerged in Abuja similar to those reported in Lagos and Ogun, specifically in the satellite town of Lugbe. The government must act now to find a solution to this pandemic. It cannot afford to listen to the NCDC alone. This problem is becoming multi-faceted. Government should not sit on its hands and watch the society implode. The consequences are dire.

We warned of an early lockdown and they did not act promptly, see the consequences. Now we warn again about the subsequent problems arising from widespread poverty....

shut the fucck up, bro. Stay at home and eat what? Those women you see there are all market women who sell things daily for survival, nobody on earth will sit down and starve to death. The government has already looseguard the only chance we had was locking all airports. Total lockdown is 100% impossible in Nigeria. There will be a full blown anarchy in Nigeria as from next week if the lockdown is not lifted.

The small one starts first, the police kill one or more protesters to subdue them and boom!!! everybody is in the street and the police can't contain it

You are dealing with humans not animals or objects... Even animals are treated better than this in developed countries.

If you can't cater to the impoverished or indigent, then cancel the bloody charade of a lock down, or make a compromise by making it as flexible as safety can allow... This is Leadership 101 sir... This isn't rocket science!!!

the thing is people are still being allowed to come from other states.

the lockdown is only targeted at market women and the poor.
I even travelled yesterday with all the lockdown.
the only thing they succeeded in doing is drive up transport fare and police bribe money

Just keep calm and go research the nitty-gritty of leadership...

Okowa and governors like him are just making a mess of this containment protocols, which are not new or strange as they are being observed across the globe.

You can't expect people to obey a lock down while unable to feed! Walk in their shoes for a minute... Don't stay on a high horse and pass judgement. Have these people always been protesting??! Is there smoke without fire??!

Dear CP Delta State,
The protesters are women not men and they are not armed with guns and dangerous weapons, then why the shooting of live bullets.

Please the Police should be brought to book, for his crime of attempted murder and be made public for peace to rain and warning to other trigger shooting cops.

Thanks
Engr. Amos Omogege
My beloved fellow Deltans......

You see my point... Everything is being done to benefit the elites at the very detriment of the poor.

This is insensitivity at the very height...

If movement out of Lagos had been stopped at least a month ago, most States won't be in any need for lock down.
