The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has said that northern Nigeria remains a high-risk region for the spread of coronavirus. Its Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mark Suzman, during a conference call with some African journalists yesterday, said this was due to the region’s weak primary healthcare system. He said: “We’ve worked extensively in the north because it’s the poorest part of Nigeria. https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/coronavirus-northern-nigeria-at-high-risk-gates-foundation.html 8 Likes 2 Shares

When the Northern Governors are saying that they cannot place restrictions on movement to curtail the spread of coronavirus, what do you expect? Moreover average Nigerians still believe that coronavirus is a scam. I pray we don't lose people like USA. 115 Likes 5 Shares |

How many have seen the videos of Abokis washing their hands and drinking same dirty water. They claim it will prevent them from coronavirus... Isn't that suicidal? Walahi, Gates and his wife knew before commenting that she saw dead bodies over Africa. Expect Kano confirmed cases to surpass Lagos State in the next 2 weeks. 57 Likes 2 Shares |

In addition to the lack of adequate medical facilities in the North, there's a high level of illiteracy and religious fundamentalism..... All of which places the region at risk. About two weeks ago, some youths in one of the northern states went on rampage and burnt a police station because the police were implementing a directive against large gathering which prevented them from going for prayers. To stop a rapid spread of the disease in the North (if not already too late) government should explore the possibility of using the indigenous channels of communication and also coopt the religious institutions into spreading messages about ways to prevent the spread 71 Likes 3 Shares |

I'm just wondering what would happen after this two weeks lockdown, cos definetly the virus won't 'fly out' the window after the lock down. If they can't give palliatives to poor citizens then they should just forget about extending it again, (cos that's what I kind of see them doing) 13 Likes 2 Shares |

Born to Rule ... Yet spent time since 1914 destroying Nigeria in general while obliterating the North in particular. If Northerners continue in power, by 2030 that place will be like ruined Babylon city devoid of human activity. 7 Likes |

The east is at high risk. Majority of Nigerians in diaspora are from the east. Plus the fact that the east is the poorest region in Nigeria, with the poorest people. We need help from everybody both govt, both NGOs and everyone reading this, we need your donations and contributions in anyway u can. 2 Likes |

Bill Gates just wants to vaccinate everyone. How come I have never heard that Bill Gates is giving scholarships to 10,000 doctors and medical engineering students in Africa. How come with all the noise he makes about helping Africa, I have never seen University Teaching hospitals, secondary or primary schools built by Bill Gates. All that I hear he does is provide vaccines for diseases that were hitherto alien to Africa which his people in the west have rejected. Very soon one of the BMCs will come here to shout from all of us at , we thank our darling daddy Buhari for being an international beggar. 24 Likes 2 Shares |
