N19.63bn Fraud: Ihedioha Imc's Ready To Confess — Govt by West1side: 9:08am On Apr 17, 2020 |
The Imo State government yesterday said that the Interim Management Committee, IMC, chairmen under former administration of Emeka Ihedioha, have expressed their readiness to explain their level of involvement in the alleged misappropriation of the N19.63 local government funds in the state. The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, spoke in Owerri, on the ongoing recovery process of the funds by the Auditor General for local government from those who were said to have mismanaged the monies. In Emelumba’s submission, the chairmen were eager to exonerate themselves by saying what they know about the funds, one of which he said was the procurement of earth moving equipment for all the 27 local government areas He said among other things that, “This is a routine thing in civil and public service. Public funds are subject to audit and that is the law. The funds from local governments are subject to audit and that is what the auditor general has done. “Nobody is talking about probe here. What the audit report is saying is that some people fictitiously spent local government money and it is improper. They should refund the money. “What is at stake here is that the auditor general for local government did an audit report and discovered that a staggering amount of N19. 63 billion was fictitiously spent for contracts that were not executed, were withdrawn from JACC, without a clearly stated purpose for that and they asked the governor, Hope Uzodinma, for approval to recover the money and the governor gave them the approval.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/04/alleged-n19-63bn-fraud-ihediohas-imc-ready-to-confess-govt/

Hmmm. Very interesting days lie ahead for Imo people. Ihediotha blew a golden opportunity honestly. Came on board and then only thing that folks could credit you with was demolition of structures built by your predecessor. I hope Hope doesnt blow his chance as well. 2 Likes 1 Share |

West1side:To tarnish this man's image will be a very difficult task for you guys! Do you know why because of your selective justice!!! Hope Uzodinma fraudulent activities was known hence his desperate need for immunity post, what has been done to him Up till now the EFCC is very quiet on his case!!! Rochas Okorocha stole the state blind, FG via EFCC quickly moved in to confiscate those properties so that Imo State will not have claims over them, What has happened to Rochas whose case was that obvious Or is he enjoying immunity too One thing is certain, judgement is coming, you can escape that of men but not God's judgement!!! So get ready!!! |
