Hello gurus, pls I need help... I am filling our express entry profile and I got confused about the education history. My wife is the PA. Her masters program was meant to be one year, 2017/2018. But she failed one first semester course And had to retake it the following session which is 2018/2019.

So what duration will I fill for her masters degree. From when to when?
Because the transcript broke it down in details i.e 2017/2018- 2018/2019 but the statement of result says 2018/2019

I am 40 and I have crs of 471. I advise that you use Canada as a back up.

There are loads of job losses at the moment in Canada.

Do not be too expectant but be cautiously optimistic.

All the best.

Thank you so much
lasignor:
That's an interesting score, congratulations as I think the score has increased. You might need to chill for a little while till this whole pandemic thing subsides before you can get your TRF. The online score update is a 50-50 thing because for some, they had their scores updated online but for many, that's not the case. It's a good thing that FSW draw isn't happening at the moment as well so just chill it out till Lagos suspends the total lockdown.

Cheers.

I learnt the LMIA has removed minimum requirements for some professions... Please what does that mean and if one get invitation to apply for a job, and the page still has "if you are not legible to work in Canada, you will not be considered" if I apply, should I be hopeful?

Thanks bro, i have a Msc degree. French lesson is not available in my location. Its a long cut but we have other plans. It will end in praise.

Dandilion:

Hi. Please keep the hope alive. Have you thought of writing BCS? Passing it will give you I think 33 points or writing French.

you won't be considered. Most Canadian employees are not interested in processing permits when more than enough candidates are on ground and jobless

Marking scheme.

I wish you the best and wish you get your heart desires.

I do not like Nigeria as it is set up and I look forward to the day people will stand up and challenge the status quo.

If you can, leave the place but it must not be Canada.

Use Canada as a back up, I say again

At 30yrs with 2 or more certificate, you should be at 470 if you both max out ielts.

Unstoppableymx:
Hello house,

Please I need some advise on my EE profile. Currently I'm on 453 and my next birthday (31 years) is July, which means if i don't get ITA before then I will loose another 5 points. Also, my spouse will be accompanying me, even if she Evaluate her degree and max out in IELTS we are still below 470 which is the average score been used recently.

1) What short course can I do to get more points on education as an Electrical engineering graduate? ( Already used my ND & HND for 2 or more certificates). The ones I saw while going throough the thread aren't related to my field

2) Which provinve can I apply to without having any family relation or connection in Canada?

Thanks.

Sorry for not being clear.

What I mean is use other means like study visas, entrepreneur visas, etc.

For instance, study in Europe or elsewhere.

I am saying do not put all your eggs into the Canada basket. Especially if you have a good job where you are.

Unless you are desperate to enter Canada.

This is straightforward. The year the program commenced and ended is what matters. Go with the date on the certificate as the completion date. Hope your ECA bears the same completion date as your certificate? IRCC doesn't care about how many years it took to complete the degree or the grade. Their interest is the qualification and its Canadian equivalent. I hope you find this helpful. Cheers.

I think it is important to set things straight here. To the best of my knowledge, no country in the Western world today has a clear cut immigration policy like Canada. So your admonition on study visa and all might not cut it. Do you know how much dollars they want one to invest to get such entrepreneurial visa? The education you also talked about is expensive and you don't get PR after you finish. You have to get a job that is willing to sponsor or you marry a citizen to adjust status.

So what is the luck of finding the job after studies in some countries that don't even grant post study visa? Or the decision for someone who is already married who can't marry another for papers? If you follow the statistics of PR approvals, you will realise the numbers coming from the USA which make up the second or third highest after inland applicants are people who have actually studied there who can't get green card. So why go spend above $20,000 on education and still be struggling for PR afterwards especially when the aim is not to return after studying in the first place? The energy can be channelled into Express Entry or even used for other things in Naija.

Only if you know the level of burden that has been taken off an individual to land in a Western country as a permanent resident permit holder, I bet you won't say this.

And on your position on one staying put in Naija if the person has a good/decent job with career prospect, I am in full agreement with that. I won't really advice anyone with a decent job in naija to pursue migrating especially people of advance age. My humble opinion.

Good talk, Even with decent job, My brother I pray that you will not experience the negative side of Nigeria. For the fact that you have decent job or flourishing business in Naija doesn't guarantee one can NOT be broke if not misrable, In Nigeria you can wake up tomorrow and become a millionaire without involving in illegal business ALSO, you can wake up the next day and end up in your village from your Lekki Mansion, nothing is working in this country, their is no structure. The FEAR of tomorrow and faith of our children is what is makes some of us to be looking for a backup, MY BROTHER, The only change we all pray for is from Grass to Grace, hmmm but Nigeria as a country will dare you vice versa, Thank God for a forum like nairaland, else some of us can go as far as giving out millions to pursue this race, My brother you will cry for this country if you witness the hangony of those that was previously decently employed like you advised BUT retired with no hope for their Masters Degree holder children hoping to get a 30,000 job. TO ALL THAT CARES ABOUT THEIR CHILDREN, FLEE from this country as far as your leg can take you. The fact that you will operate in a SANE environment and there is hope for future of your children is enough reason.

i tire for that guy he is only being controversial and looking for trouble. Was lady marshal not in Germany before she applied brain. Even he himself is in france looking for canada too. Many international students in other countries are also targeting canada for a reason. Anyone that is wise should do all it takes to get that PR as the opportunity may not be there for ever
