Hi just mellow good afternoon, please can I use my brother in law as my sponsor, though he is helping my father control the business because they have been working together for long now.

Hello Zika123,

Of course YES. All you need to do is provide evidence to any claims and be able to proof his relationship to you. Literally, your father should be the right person to sponsor you since your father owns the business and the sole signatory to the business account - I pressed.

March applicants have started receiving updates on their applications.

Matured married applicant can certainly be self-sponsored. That's even the most ideal way of proving to the visa officer that you're well-established in your home country and undoubtedly would return home after studies.

It will end in praise.

Hello Frankrobbn1,

Hope you are keeping safe bro!

I'm fantastically good bro. The lockdown has kept everyone indoors including myself, thus my unusual presence on this platform to continue making impact and assisting others to actualize their Canadian dreams while we earnestly hope for the lockdown to be called off soon.

I trust you're practicing the self-isolation at your end and staying safe too?

Hello house, trust we are all keeping safe. Please I need your opinion. Today makes my application 7 weeks old, which is the TAT on Canada website for processing Nigerian applications. Early march my medical changed to passed, after some time, it changed back to we do not need any medical at the moment story. I was planning on sending contacting the Kenya team today for update. However, yesterday I received my BVL.
What does this mean and will you advise that I should still send them an email for update on my application?

Thank you house as you share your experience.

The visa officers at the Canadian embassy only have access to see the current balance in accordance with the instructions you gave to the bank as at the date the MyBank statement and Ticket ID/password was generated. The embassy doesn't have access to your available balance after the submission of your application. The visa officer only verifies the authenticity of your statement using the bank's verification platform.

Note - No commercial bank will give out your available balance to a third party without your consent unless there is a valid proof that you're involved in a criminal case or fraudulent transaction.

I hope this information helps.

Hello Mr Frankrobbn1 and everyone else. I specifically mentioned the above BC I'm new and i don't know how to post independently yet so i quoted him. I'd appreciate if everyone would give me an input bc I'm currently going gaga.

I applied first in Jan and got denied in Feb. Refusal Details being: "current employment situation and family ties in home country and in Canada"

Here's my profile:
I'm 23(24 by October) No tertiary education yet, i have an 8 year gap from end of secondary schl up till 2020.
I've been working since 2016 as an ict staff at an energy company, learning software dev. And volunteering at a local book club
SOA= 11,200usd + 13M , sponsor is mum, 2yr fees + living expenses is way less than the total of what i presented so money aint issue.
I gained adms at NBCC for a 2yr diploma in network administration for Fall 2020,
I had my sponsor write a letter too including my SOP , waec, family properties including a land Doc in my name, mum's last designation and salary increase.

I reapplied on 4th of march with all info above and added
Proof of family ties which include: Dad and mum's employment proof, my birth certificate and that of entire family, each member of family's local govt of origin cert
I also added proof of employment which include : Employment letter, confirmation letter, ID, Leave approval for duration of study from my employer and also indicated that i hv been denied bfr above.

This morning i got a BVL and from what I've been reading from y'all, BVL before medicals is likely a rejection which is my case at the moment. My mind is tricking me to think its bc of corona and no one would be reasonable to send a medical form at the moment.

Sorry for my very long post, Help a brother everyone

And pls how do i order GMCS notes

It will almost impossible to secure Master's admission in Canada with a Nigerian PGD. Your best bet is to apply for a PGD in Canada that would serve as a smooth transition to your master's.

It will end in praise.

There is no set out timeframe by IRCC for you to be able to file for your wife's SOWP. Once you've successfully arrived Canada, secured an apartment and currently pursuing your program in a designated learning institution (DLI). You can absoutely apply for your wife to accompany you to Canada.

Thank you so much

Good evening,

Thanks for all your contributions and answers to my previous questions. However, I have a few more questions that i need to ask;

1. Can i use the statement of account that i request through the mobile app and is delivered directly to my email address? or must i visit the bank and get it stamped? NB: The statement has the bank's watermark.

2. According to the Canadian immigration requirement for a student visa, I need to show funds for year one alone. Do i need to show funds for year 2 also?

Thanks in anticipation.

It doesn't matter wether showing funds for year 1 or 2.as long as you have sufficient funds that will cover for both tuition and living expenses, let me say eg tuition is 16k and living expenses is 10k as usual accord cic website, you can show as much as 30 to 35k and you will be good to go, so u can use the above examples and do your math!

tuition and living expenses for year 1 or both years combined? that's my question.

Tuition+ living for year 1= 31kCAD

Tuition + living for year 2= 14KCAD
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Rollyxxmv(m): 10:53pm On Apr 18, 2020
No, I've not. I only paid 500CAD as a prerequisite for the admsn space.
The window for proper fee payment isn't open yet and even though My 2yr fees plus living expenses is less than the total of my SOA with over 20,000CAD gap

Living expenses is 10k standard..

25K is the program fee.

Is the living expense not 10k CAD per year?

My program is for two years.

21k for year 1

4K for year 2

That is 35k living expenses inclusive which is roughly 9.7m in naira, basically you or your sponsor needs roughly 14m in naira (52K CAD) to demonstrate strong proof of finance..

Year 1: 21K + 10K
Year 2: 4K + 10K
