Please I need advice on which to go for between a BMW E60 350i 2005 or a Toyota Camry 2009 model. Which of them will be more durable and standing the taste of time. Is the BMW a good to go? I like it but Toyota fans are advising contrary.

I'm sorry to say it but unfortunately the E60 I learnt has been with so much issues, to the best of my knowledge especially the E60 M5 I have seen quite some of them lying around from engine problem to transmission, I don't like Toyotas, so don't think I'm trying to discourage you from buying the Bimmer, I would suggest you go through reviews and see the issues that is plagued with 530i to see if most of them will be something you will be able to handle

The 530i has a more reliable engine than the 535i and higher models, but the problem isn't the engine, it's all the other things in your engine bay.

I wouldn't ever recommend an E60 to anyone in good faith.

Buy the E60, there's no 350i of the e60. It is 550i. Buy the 530i. You are good to go. As for the Camry, the gear would pack up. And robbers can make it disappear

how ironic, the Camry gear "would pack up" but the troublesome and fault prone E60 would be perfectly Ok

what a genius you are

My pick- BMW without much thoughts. The e60 530 is reliable enough for any purpose. The 3litre engine in that MY 530 was used in the e46. No major issues, make sure the water pump and plumbing system in the engine are okay. The e60 transmission isn't known to be faulty.
In my opinion, BMW cars are some of the best cars ever built, in terms of luxury and performance

the BMW e60 is a nice car, Nigerians have stereotype BMW as a money pit, yet some Nigerians are enjoying their ride in peace once they do preventive maintenance, the gremlins in BMW are water pumps and electrical, the lack of kazeems that understands the BMW has also made it seems as if the marque is bad. if it was that bad why is BMW still in business?

see my friend BMW are great cars and deserve to be treated with respect and not be treated like a Camry.

if you are going for the bimmer make sure you keep up with the regular maintenance, you best bet is to keep at least 25% - 30% of the amount of which you bought the vehicle and budget that for maintenance.

and also get a very good BMW mechanic to always work on your car and you have no problem.

I dey gbadu my BMW 325i E46, the car dey give me joy anytime I see the demon eyes.

Buy which ever you desire afterall its people that own them. You'll have no shortage of owners of both cars that'll swear to you that it is the best car they have ever bought.

Having said this. Now based on your focus(durable and standing taste of time) it has been proven that bmw's breakdown more often than toyotas and as they age they get worse and its not as if they are cheap to fix anyway. So only buy the bmw If you are very passionate about the bimmer such that caring for it comes naturally and you are blessed to have the financial capacity to do so without stress. Only then can i promise you that you'll enjoy the car.

But to answer your question the toyota is no doubt more durable and will withstand the test of time.

One objective comment at least. People that drive them don't have two heads. If the Op is so scared, let him get the Toyota, no drama.

Why do most people dread German cars? I know someone that drove BMW X5 3.0LV6. Wonderful SUV it was.
