This is a welcome development in the automobile sector of the country.

If this industry can be allow to develop, the positive multiplier effects on the economy will be great, can anyone imagine if the Ajaokuta Steel or Delta Steel companies are operational to help this type of company to get locally sourced materials for their automobile production.

I guess given time, this company will be all over the country, producing and providing servicing for their autos - massive employment opportunities.

With patience, Nigeria can actually be a net exporter of autos to West Africa and beyond.

Please let us all leave tribal and religious sentiments aside and rejoice with Innoson for this great feat. Our government should do everything possible to empower innoson to do. I am very happy that Nigeria is waking up.

This is a major development!!! Some said it is copy and paste but that is true for almost all small car companies in the world! All you need to have is a chassis design that can accommodate whatever engine and transmission that you plan to use.

It is very common for small car companies to buy entire drivetrains from larger more established car manufacturers. Drivetrains includes engine, transmission, clutch, transaxle, CV joints, differentials, axles, and wheels. For example, the British car manufacturer, Lotus, uses Toyota Celica’s engine in the Elise and Exige.

To be quite honest, more money/profit is made from assembling and selling the final product and not the parts that goes into them.

People even build cars in their garages from scratch.

i hope it was really manufactured here, because sometimes the claim for manufacture is nothing but assembling. just like the pan peugeot . but if this is really a manufacturing, i really commend them . i once drove behind one of them on my way to lagos last year or early this year, i was really shocked at the brand name . " INNOSON" i said this name sounds nigerian. but i didmissed the idea that probably they ordered for some buses to be branded in their name just like the popular abacha TV. God bless nigeria.

Did you read the article article or couldn't comprehend the content? The official name of the vehicle is IVM 6540. It is called Hummer Bus, just like its Japanese counterpart by Toyota by the general populace because of its rugged look.

The Innoson vehicle is manufactured 100% at Nnewi Anambra state. You can confirm it by visiting the world class plant in Anambra. Little wonder you yoroobahs are never do well, with all the mud houses in your respective state capitals of western nigeria I don't expect you guys to be cheerful. Yoorobahs are the most backward tribe I have seen in Nigeria
