I can't remember but that woman has said it all. To me, I think it really shaped my life.

You've not suffered and you say you're wise, who's your teacher?

"Since the day I gave birth to you, I know you can't have sense"...I did something foolish that day tho..
It wasn't painful but shocking shocked

When I told her later what she said, she was shocked too grin.. She didn't believe she could say that too..

1. You no go fit kill me lai lai because I no kill my own parents.

2. Useless shame of a pikin.

3. E better make person no get pikin dan to get one like you.

4. Na from small dem dey know pikin wey go get sense and take care of him family Kai

5. Dem no dey use mouth tell pikin wey get sense to comot from inside smoke.

How many I wan talk. She get mouth well well, I collect some from her.

My mum was so harsh and iron-fisted that she even dealt with me until I broke a tooth. If to say na western world dem born me, na me for call police to arrest her for child abuse.

I was stubborn though as a kid, but nothing out of the ordinary for kids my age. While she had 11 of us, I was selected for most of her outrage as the eldest. grin

But you know what, all the beatings, swear words, comparisons with other kids et al, as much as they did scar me mentally and emotionally, I was still able to get a spurn from it all to propel me into proving everyone wrong. And boy, did I succeed? Na me she come dey call olori oko 1. grin

Na me be the pikin wey shut everybody up with shock and how to be a family rock upon who everyone will eventually use as a springboard.

I know my mum did it all from a position of love (hard love). They often showed love how it was shown to them, na we come dey break the vicious cycle now.

I love my mum oh..but at some point I honestly almost doubted her maternity grin

When I mentioned those scars to my parents, they reacted like I was lying and my dad even said I made him cry.....

The life was just painful...
How I wish they understood us...

For real.

I wrote a book on my life experiences which eventually found its way to my parents' stables, in fact dem week like dodo, ashamed, sorry and all because I did in fact laid it all bare as I remembered them.

But I hold nothing against them.

This should be front page worthy to ease some lock down stress joor

But sometimes I regret that I told them......

The memory of me telling them is still fresh in my mind......

I almost cried ....they themselves almost cried as well.....

It's not that I didn't love them but because they didn't really understand what I was saying that's why it became a partial Aburi Accord

You are still behaving like a boy, you better grow up and have some sense like your mates!

I felt bad and was angry with her for days...

Now with every single day that passes by

I wish she was still alive to give me more of her wisdom.... and love

Death is truly cruel

Damn I miss her too much angry

If your mum is still alive, please give her a hug, show to her that you love her, that opportunity might cease anytime...

When I told her that God must be a fool for giving all Christians the gift of speaking in tongue but no one the gift of curing COVID-19, she said to me, "My son, I thought of something like that few years ago."

It pained me so much that my mum kept the foolishness of God away from me for years.
