A) Tuition fees are interpreted by the visa officer as school fees. Those ancillary expenses are seen as your miscellaneous expenses during the course of your study. Consequently, why the OTHERS was provided in the financial aspect of the IMM1294E (Study permit made outside of Canada form).
B) Having a sibling who also took same study permit route and presently in Canada as a permanent resident doesn't adversely have any negative impact on your application. The onus is dependant upon you to ascertain the facts that you've significant ties to Nigeria irrespective of the fact that you've a sibling in Canada. This is where social, economic and professional ties like (landed properties in your name, your beloved aged parents, registered business in Nigeria, lucrative career prospects from your present or future employers in Nigeria, your fiancee which you intend getting married upon the successful completion of your program) now comes in play.
I hope this information helps.
In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out here for assistance.
It will end in praise
Thank you very much for your help. |

Yes it's very possible to do that only if applications for September 2021 is open. Simply write with cogent reason to the international admission office of your school requesting for a deferment to the next available term.

You hit the nail on the head, brother. In addition to what he stated, education here is on a very high level. You've got to be well grounded and at least like school to cope here because the education will certainly overwhelm you for the first time. You will realize the value of making use of 24 hrs in a day because once school starts it will no longer be enough unlike in 9ja school where there is comparatively excess time. All the best. Owoch: Alhamdulillah! Alhamdulillah!! Alhamdulillah!!! I have wanted to do this for a very long time but finally, I am blessed with enough time. Masha Allah. since I'm done with my last paper for the term I've decided to give back to this forum this way and any other way I can.
Please gear up for a long post.
2017 October 1st application 2017 December rejected Fanshawe college: PGD Human Resource Management the reason; purpose of visit and travel history used a travel agent in Nigeria.
2nd Application; May 2018 Lakehead University most of us know what happened to applications during this period. I had to wait for 1 year plus with enough fasting and prayers. lord knows I've never been that committed to my religion as I did during that period. At one point I almost withdrew my application but people of God like Frankrobbn1 and Naijaforeigner convinced me to hold on. Approvals kept coming in for fellow nairalanders but mine was in oblivion and I kept praying. So finally after the whole humbling and patience, God taught me:
I got my approval letter sometime around late august 2019 without medical request. I went nuts that night, just went out of the house and came back inside like 100 times. LOL. crazy memory. I'm laughing right now.
the next day I left home for lekki, immediately after the first crow just to avoid the traffic from Ikeja to lekki as its always very crazy. fast forward 14 days or so of normal waiting time, my passport didn't show up. another patience after all this while Ah!!! mogbe ooo!!! school resumes in days and yet passport is not showing up. my dad sent me on my way to lekki to go confirm and still the same thing seen on the online portal. temibami! who did I offend? Lol
So school resumed and everything was still the same, the passport wasn't showing up and I was going crazy at home. I already quit my job and just waiting to fly to my destination; Thunderbay. Already paid for a place to stay with another nairalander Collins, forgotten his moniker on nairaland. he is my brother from another mother now. collins left me in Naija and Japa to thunder bay and sent me a picture of my room and my head was swelling like garri. Lol. I almost entered depression and had to ask on this platform again if I could change my program and things like that.
After 2 weeks of resumption, my passport finally came back and booked a ticket immediately. omo ticket wasn't joking that period oo, paid lots to fly. left Naija Sept 20th and got to maple land; landed Toronto and I was dreading like what if I was asked why I came late and told to go back. I cant deffer because I did once already. so many questions playing on my mind and I couldn't answer all.
It got to my turn and I was summoned by a female vo vo: hello, me: hi vo: can I have your study permit and passport, please me: tendered it with a huge smile on my face vo: so why did you arrive this late me: I got my passport back really late and came as fast as I could immediately I got it vo: okay. so it's written in your letter of offer that you have a pre-requisite in mathematics. are you very good at maths because if you don't pass your pre-requisite by the end of the first term, you'll be removed from Canada me: I understand vo: who is your sponsor me: my dad vo: so he paid for your tuition and going to support your stay here in Canada? me: Yes mam vo: good, let me see your proof of funds me: passed it on to her with a smile and a tired look vo: awesome. goes to print my study permit. came back and told me she won't be including the option to work because I have to focus on my studies first before anything else me: I totally understand vo: welcome to Canada me: thank youuuuuuuuuuu
so that was it o, I had a connecting flight to thunder bay and had met a 9ja guy from frankfurt airport, so we just chilled together at the lounge changed a few bucks for a taxi, exchanged numbers and off we went on our ways to Winnipeg and thunder bay. landed around 12 am in thunder bay and had to wait outside in that cold for like 20mins because I had no internet or line to contact that I'm by the door. although I informed him I was at the airport and taking a taxi already. before collins, came to open door. yeh! what is this. who send me come! cold scatter my brain. all that swagger jacket from Naija was like foam, I was already shaking. finally, baba come open door, I run enter see my guy for the first time, hail am Naija way, the Indians for the house dey look us like we be twins, funny that's another story. na so I go crash, baba go continue to study, that time I never understand wetin Canadian education be like.
so fast forward; I went to Lakehead on Monday to report myself present and ready for the studying but he no work. I had resumed too late, one of the professor been one give me chance to catch up 3 weeks in one night, he was like '' okay i will attach you to someone but first go read chapter 3,7, 5 and 2 then come tomorrow for classes so I can introduce you to your partner''. I remembered that feeling really well that day: feeling of wasting 4 years in the Naija education system, they tried but it wasn't as deep as what I was seeing in that textbook. so I decided not to continue with it because I didn't come to Canada just for coming sake and burn 21k cad for fun, so I contacted my agent who is a certified consultant by CIC and she gave me all the info I needed and decided to change to the University of Manitoba for Human Resource Management. To cut the long story short, I sat down for 3 months mostly playing Fifa. my Indian friends for house come even bring me one video for youtube make I watch '' smoke shisha play Fifa'' because I played too much Fifa. something wey dem no born me well to try when I resumed school. I finally resumed in January and now done with the first term.
P.S: this is not to talk down on anyone, but please if you know you aren't the type that studies or can sit on his or her own and pass please look for another country to go or better still express entry. if you are an average student trust me you'll catch up because of the teaching style and the Naija spirit wey no dey carry last. please consider your option carefully as schooling in Canada is extremely stressful. i am giving this info so you can know what you are coming into. the devil will not use us to burn thousands of dollars o. copyright is real here, plagiarism is real here. get caught; get expelled. ILEYA NI YEN O.
That's my own story people and I want to give special thanks to Jnyuwa02, Frankrobbn1, and Naijaforeigner for the support they have been giving on this platform. he no easy. I doff my cap to yall.
I can't write everything but I wrote what I remembered. as time goes ill keep updating you guys. My current view Much Love From Winnipeg 4 Likes |

Please, I'm yet to get a response from the house.
Good evening my people!
I have a couple of issues I need your wisdom. I will highlight each questions and hope to get your suggestions.
1. I have shares in 3 companies and I want to use them as home ties in my application but in recent times bank share has plummeted making my unit share to worth nothing at all. Should I still include them as my home ties?
2. I have a land that was gifted to me by my father. He has sworn affidavit that states he is giving me the land as my own part of his inheritance. Is that enough proof to lay claim to the land as my own as I intend to use it as my asset?
3. Me and my partner are into a project in providing social services. We just started the NGO registration before the lockdown, although we are just emerging as we became the whole process February this year.
My concern is, in my SOP I included it but my intentions was to draw VO's mind to that fact that I have a social responsibility to Nigeria and that I will be coming back after my studies to continue with the structures we have in place. Will that also serve as a strong home tie considering the NGO registration is on hold currently because of the lockdown and I don't have a proof to show that our work exists?
4. My father has a registered company and I want to include it as a home tie even though I have not worked there. Is it enough home tie?
5. My sponsor just informed me that she won't be giving me her employment letter (she has a PR in Canada) and she will only provide me with her payslips. Is the payslips enough to prove to the VO my sponsor's employment details? Won't it affect my application if I don't have my sponsor's employment letter?
6. Since banks are not in operation, will using MYBANKSTATEMENT be an option in showing my proof of fund since I'm not applying through NSE? *I'm sorry for the long post and most of them focuses on solidifying my home ties. Please your suggestions are needed. Thank you all and God bless.* Please my ogas should help me with these concerns I have raised.

Hi, good people of Nairaland. I'm a graduate of Human and Medical Physiology and will like to read nursing in Canada. Is this move possible for me? Is there a fast track or accelerated option for graduates of medical courses read nursing in Canada. And please what schools are cheap (quite affordable) and provide quality education too?
I look forward to your responses.

Good day Sir, please allow me to DM you. I will appreciate if you could help review my SOP. Second time applicant( first app; october 2019) Reasons for previous delay: 1. Reason/purpose of traveling 2. Family tie, here and in Canada (my sponsor and his wife which is my aunt are PR holders) Thanks in advance for your time.. Frankrobbn1:
Congratulations Owoch, its actually been a while. I can remember vividly how so many applications were held for a long period of time without a decision from London visa office as at May 2018 to August 2018. It was a very horrible experience for nairalanders during that time. It's nice to hear that you heeded to the advice given and didn't withdrew the application. We give God the glory and thus glad to be part of your Canadian TRV success story and many others. Thanks for reaching out here about the outcome of the long awaited application. I wish you the very best in Canada.
It will end in praises for everyone on this thread. |

I am a Canadian resident and have been a member of this forum for more than 10 years. I have always been worried about the way Naira changes compared to dollars and it pains me to see that people lose the value when kept in Naira especially if you are interested in travelling out of the country. This is why I thought this will be good for you. This will be helpful to you when you want to travel or change some of your Naira to Canadian dollars now or in some weeks or months' time.
