I don't seem to understand it completely from what I have read about stellium is that when three or more planets are in a particular sign.
In my birthchart 3 planets are in Aquarius and 3 other planets are in sagittarius.
So I am quite confused as to which of these two is my stellium really in.

That means you have an Aquarius stellium since your sun sign is also in the sign. Some astrologers use 4 planets though, but if you have an inner/personal planet(s) (sun, moon, mars & venus) as part of a stellium, then you need only 3 to qualify as a stellium.

I have 4 planets in Scorpio, two of which are personal planets (moon & mars), the other two are outer/generational planets (saturn & pluto). Altogether they make a stellium. A stellium basically means you'll have a greater interest in the things associated with the sign your stellium is in. Example, my stellium means I like taboos, mystery, investigations, sexual related topics etc because that's what the sign of Scorpio is about. It makes me a little twisted, dirty old geyser
