Changing the tool depends on the owner/partner.

Like sexy rightly mentioned, the only people that complains abiut the price are drivers on rental and those on HP reason being that their work hours has to be double to make a living and have a savings, otherwise, the business is a good one.

We are still saying the same thing na

The period to recoup your principal on a Corolla is more than a year, which is very bad

Are those partners with fleets complaining?, I think it those partners with one car that is complaining

The most a partner with fleets in uber will complain of is bad drivers

That's what I said in the beginning angry

Our car dealers can can research for us best vehicle for these kind of business. Toyota corolla is not it anymore.

The time to recoup your principal on a corolla is more than a year. Which makes it not feasible anymore
I still dont think it not viable even with the long time on RIO.

Business generally takes time to recoup capital, multinational business take less than 5yrs b4 profit.

But with yearly comprehensive insurance I believe its still viable.

Objectively there not many businesses where this is feasible

@Dru23, a quick question pls... From experience with yiur a mantra and Honda cars which one of these cars is prone to faults and in terms of cost of maintenance which is cheaper?

I will Rephrase the question like this ... .. But first Elantra 07 upwards are good cars. I don't want to discourage anyone from buying Elantra .....but when you say prone to faults under normal usage... NONE....

But when it comes to uber or ehailing usage the elantra cost me more to fix ,especially ball joint ,linkage ,bushings etc .. Have spent more on maintenance on the elantra, but the elantra has a fantastic engine ,almost as good as the civic.... You have to give the Elantra engine credit for that..... When I usually buy elantra from private sellers in the USA, some are sad to sell the car , the car has gotten their college kids through school......

But the civic , parts are cheap and easy to work on . The transmission is the only concern I have .. But from experience it should not be a major issue at all to worry about..

Plz keep in mind have been a fan of the civic since Uber was in their 2 year of business in Nigeria... My first 03 civic had rust and was buried under snow when I bought it.. The civic was a machine ,it was rugged till the day I sold it I don't recall buying shocks or doing major repairs... but one thing is that use the correct oil and transmission fluid when needed... ......

Now , when the civic started shorten oil , this was before I started selling oil or knew anything about types of oil .. The previous manager I had was using 5k naira and engine had a bit of sludge. So my mechanic advice me to sell the car before it's start smoking badly .. The car was sold within 1 week to my client in Abuja .. So before I sold the car to him, I did oil change ,brakes ,and change the spark plug.... So afterwards I ask my mechanic will this car make to Abuja ,he said oga don't worry it will make ... The car made it to Abuja true true, the driver that drove it even got into an accident because of over speeding.. The car had over 250k miles when I sold it off

PS .... Just like with any other cars , plz find a specialist that only fixes a particular car .. The guy that fixes my car only does Honda cars only, nothing but Honda products.... Sorry story long ....lol

Dealers main job is to sell cars .. To find the best car for the job, you need to talk to people that have been doing the business for long....Have had civic for over two years on uber , so I can give a better judgement on the car not dealers.... Just like with anything else, I always tell people to do their own research... this is what works for me , it may or not work for you depending how serious you take it

Boss all car comes to maintenance.
Was your friend using the right oil?
Does your friend use the right mechanic?
Does he buy the Original parts?
Does he pay attention to his car?

The issue of which car is suitable has been thrashed over and over again.

The only thing I know is that NEVER invest over 1.5m to buy a ride for Ehailing... it will not come back as you calculated.

And yes I know my civics very well ....below is my very first civic on uber ....bought the car with 167k miles and sold it with 275k miles.... The kind look I will give somebody that tells me to get any other car ,apart from a civic...

I always back up whatever I say or do .. The taste is in the pudding....

A good business look for a reduction in expenses and maximize income.
When you think of getting a car
First consider price and how rugged on Nigeria roads.
Second cinder availability of spare parts.
Third do you have competent auto technician who can handle it.
Like someone here using Mercedes Benz for Uber, as an Auto technician when it gets to some certain area in Benz I consult with my bosses in the field. No master of all.
Consider this and set a price range and don't follow the crowd. You will be good..
