dru23: That's what I was driving at. Rental business model isn't entirely bad and it's proven to work often times, I even know a company that rents out about 1500 cars. Asides mechanical issues to the old cars we all use here and considering our peculiar environment which can be overcome by a sane, tactful, honest and hard-working mind. What i think the major impediment to wide range successes in this business is the wrong mindset many of us- partners and drivers bring into the trade. Everyone by default will instinctually seek ways to exploit a system to their advantage if such opportunities arise. Many of us see e hailing as a gold Rush, others see it as a major means of livelihood, others are downright criminals. The bottom line is many of us have the wrong attitude and are absolutely bad business people. 1 Like |

dru23: I belive most rental companies in Lagos might be dead by now, many might have converted their fleets to ehailing then maybe also do hire purchase with their old cars to desperate drivers. |

Why u fail in your haulage business is because you gave yours to a greedy and wicked manager. Bros am managing it my self and you have little or nothing to do when someone mind is made up. dru23: 2 Likes |

I am managing it myself in fact I have already use this lockdown to learn more about the business it only require your time because there are goods or container always available for you to pick up and is strickly only Lagos so I don't think I should have any problem. deedee44: 2 Likes |

ofime123: I like your spirit bro, but don't learn from your in law bro... Go and learn this stuff from outsider and don't act as if you want to invest. Please start from the lowest point and watch how they lie and steal from the owner so you will understand the rudiments and how to handle drivers with lies. Also know the market value for spare parts so you won't help someone to build his house ontop your head.... One love bro 7 Likes |

There is no amount of discouragement that can stop someone that already made up his mind. If you watch I really don't talk much here. Am more secretive when it comes to doing something. Have been into transport business long ago while I was in delsu. I have a shuttle bus I drove it my self. Even after graduation I bought a a t4 bus short chassis tokunbo for about 600k then and I drove it my self and made a lot of money with it. I had to sell it of cause I got a building contract in epkoma. When I came back from ekpoma that was when I started ehailing. Now I didn't say there is no money in ehailing but I need to grow. But how will u grow if you stay in one place. For someone to be a suscessful businessman you need to take risk. And have taken a lot of Risk so I have nothing to fear or worry about. shollywendy1: Go for Rio, better than civic cost wise and same fuel efficiency. You can still get a very good Rio for 800k. |
