I’m not even arguing. I made my opinion that I like something and then people turned this to a debate bringing all sort grin
I like what i like. His decision to ME is a good one. Remember, you don’t have to agree.

You keep arguing pointlessly. Care to explain why Apple, Google, Microsoft, ExxonMobil and others all hire thousands of H1B workers every year?

Some schools send out I-20’s to admitted international students for free, so it’s normal for some schools to do that without you paying shipping fee. And yes you must pay sevis fee, every international student is expected to pay the sevis fee before visiting the embassy.

thank you

It is not by profession. It is always role by role. Like a product analyst job at apple can be reserved for citizens and PRs and a marketing job at Nike can be reserved for only citizens and PRs. If you’re familiar with applying to jobs here, you’ll understand my point better. And some jobs you start with a short term visa status, and to retain those kind of jobs for long long term, you need green card.

I'm sorry but you have zero idea about what you're saying. If it has nothing to do with national security that you specifically need government clearance for, you are allowed to apply and be employed for any role as long as you have a visa that permits you to work. Please research more and stop typing out what you're not ADEQUATELY informed about.

Do more research too. Where one person’s knowledge ends is where another one’s own begin. There are many jobs that always specifically say only PRs and Citizens can apply...and they will put it that no sponsorship allowed for such jobs so international students can’t get such jobs

Sigh...

If anyone is reading this in the future, please note that what this OP has posted about jobs in the the US is not correct in any way.

When a job opening says “no sponsorship” it basically means they won’t file H1b for you. You rarely need security clearance for most jobs in America, if you do then you might be required to be a citizen (PR holders are not even qualified for some of those jobs).

PS: This response isn’t for you OP. It has to be said for the guest that will read this while searching randomly on google.

Hello everyone.

You are wrong.

There are jobs that say ONLY PRs and Citizens should apply. Many jobs. They do put it there. And i wrote no sponsorship because even if you have h1b visa you shouldnt expect them to help file your green card cause some jobs help you file your permanent residency. That is the sponsorship aspect.

Attached is an example of how they write it.. only for citizens and green card holders.

Why not post the full job and let’s help you read and interpret English language? For all we know that screenshot might be a military job posting?

Those who are familiar with applying to US jobs know what I’m saying... the ones for military always say protected veterans can apply. The one i attached now is for a design engineer and it says only citizens.

So? The vast majority of folks who apply for a greencard through employment typically start with the H1B visa. So basically they can continue to work for the 60 day pause and then resume their greencard applications. So what has Trump achieved?

Just so you're aware, over 80,000 people were selected in this years' H1B visa lottery, the pause does not affect them. More than 900,000 Indians are on greencard waitlists, they are all working here on H1b or H4 visas, none of them is affected by this pause.

And those who apply for green card not through employment are much more. Those on the line to get green card are so many and people get green cards a lot in one day so imagine adding that to pool of people competing for jobs. He has achieved not adding more green card holders and giving them opportunity to apply to jobs only for PRs citizens till a way to resolve this millions of unemployment claims is determined at least. It is a pause for some days..
And really you or anyone else does not have to like his decisions. That’s life. We dont all like the same things.

Yes the ban doesn’t stop work visas. And work visas like H1B is not guaranteed for anyone. He rightly said it is for those trying to get their permanent residency. If you fufill all criteria for PR, you cant be denied but even if you fulfill all for work visa like H1B you can be denied because its a lottery system. And my point has been about that pausing the green card processing, it is a good move. So those in the process of getting their green card right now apart from refugees and asylum seekers will have to wait for 60 days. That’s it. People enter US in many ways and many are looking to get their green card so he is pausing such for now to attend to the unemployment claims that citizens have filed. And to me, that’s a good move. Not adding to the number of citizens or PR yet till this unexpected crisis calms down. And why should anyone be stressed that they paused their immigration?? It is his country and right now he is the leader grin grin the American people voted for him!

Everyone is entitled to their views.

People on line to get green cards are usually in 2 categories:
1. Family based - make up the vast majority. Most of those stay in their home country and only move to the US when their Green Cards have been approved. So a 60-day pause does nothing to them, they can continue waiting in their home country.

2. Employment-based - virtually 100% of these who are in the US are on another visa - F1, O1 or H1B. All three are not affected by the pause and are able to continue working with no interruption while they wait for their visas.

Ever heard of research facilities? Affiliated with military? Most of the jobs that require you to be a citizen or PR holder is solely for clearance purpose. If you’re not a citizen you don’t get such clearance. It doesn’t necessarily have to be under the military, it can as well be a private contractor job. Such jobs are very few and you mostly won’t qualify for them if you’re not an American.

You and I know those who have gotten in illegally, who get married to process paper and are waiting to get green card.. many people on that line in the USA
It is not about affecting any one’s work
It is to make jobs that are specifically for citizens and PRs less competitive. If more PRs are added, it becomes more competitive.

No one has to agree with me.
