I had to run away when my cousin was in labour at the hospital after the husband sneaked out. I really feel for women. I don't think I can bear staying around while wifey (future) puts to bed. but if she insists... hmmmm
I might end up being admitted too. hate seeing her in pain.

Oh my! Labour is extra ordinary. The pain a woman feels during labour is likened to someone being burnt alive.

Please don't trivialise it. It's an extra ordinary part of a woman's function.

Check videos of men who have volunteered to be stimulated with machines and drugs just to feel what labour pain is like. You guessed right! They couldn't bear the pain for 5 seconds!!!

Men can't bear the pain because there is no baby in his womb, because he does have a womb. We know is not easy but let me enlighten you on one funny and amazing thing that happen during delivery is that the child secrete some substance to help assist her mother both in terms o f healing, strength etc thanks

My own Dad was not only not there when my mum was in Labor to have me....He was even too occupied to name me...He just told my mum via Letter "call him Junior" grin

So now, I bear all his names with the suffix (Jr) while he now adds (Sr) to his name smiley

He wasn't there not because he didn't want to be there to witness the birth of his only Child....He was absent because he was involved in peacekeeping in Liberia that year...smiley

When he came back two years later, Him and my mum organized a massive Owambe to celebrate my birth....me that I was already walking and a full blown nuisance in the Neighborhood grin...

A big shout out to both my parents...They are the best cool
God bless u. Funny u with a full blown nuisance. Lol

hmmm... interesting thread. I'm late but I'll try. labor pain for me lasted 3 days which made the doctors to induce me on the 3rd day after I reported at the hospital. my mum had told me before then that in our culture a woman in labor does not cry, it is a taboo. I kept telling my self I will not cry. meanwhile my husband that was supposed to pet me was on an empty bed enjoying himself. it was not until a nurse came and shouted at him before he stood up and started rubbing my back. my brother, my sister, labor pain is not something I can describe. few hours after I was induced I started seeing stars. arhhh...at first I was singing " I will not cry" as I paced to and fro the room that even when I told doctor I was in serious pain, he didn't believe me. he told me the real pain has not come and he went to sleep around 11 pm. Jesus! around 12 am i started shouted, requesting for c.s. the nurses begged me to hold on that I'm almost there. my husband became scared and confused. at that moment I forgot the " I will not not cry" song I was singing as I was in serious tears. I was singing a new song of " who send me oo", " God help me this once, I will not do it again" . when my water bursted around 1 am and blood started coming out, my husband turned prayer warrior. he ran to call the nurse who confirmed that baby was coming. long story short, after all the cutting with scissors, baby finally came forth. the stitching the followed is a story for another day. did I mention that my husband turned prayer warrior? yes, I could hear his prayers from the labor room.

grin grin grin @ the bold.

But you did again, didn't you?

Big Gbosa to all the mothers here and out there, also to expectant Mothers... Your testimony is doing press up for you.

in due season, you all shall deliver like the Hebrew women in the Bible.

I have to do a little research because there are some terms that I don't seem to understand here.

I'm single but when married. I'm planning to run away from her from 7th month because I may not be able to withstand some funny attitudes(Lord have mercy).

To all the naughty guys asking stupid questions and making unnecessary comments... just keep on displaying your foolishness.

Posting this as recounted by my mom.

My dad wasn't scared when mom reported the broken waters. He quickly got her to the hospital around 7pm. He was allowed to stay in the Labour room and he did quite well. Trouble started when I couldn't come out via normal delivery and the doctor called my dad and told him mom would have a Caesarean. Man broke down and started crying grin grin ..long story short, CS started and man couldn't stand watching his wife shredded grin He left the theatre and sat outside with his best friend until it was done grin

A 5.1kg white looking baby with head circumference 37cm was born that night grin

My dad was the happiest person on earth
Was born keh??, no be born anymore.. Na, was carried out u suppose use

the after stitching is as painful if not even more painful than the labour pain

Mothers are super beings
the whole process of motherhood has made me respect mothers more

the time they used in stitching me up was much more than the one I used in pushing baby out.

it is the worst pain I've ever experienced
