Why have we Nigerians become so lazy? Even in the villages, young people refuse to go to the farms. My take is, at least feed yourself before begging for money. Nigeria is the largest group of people that don't contribute anything to the world's food basket. "Give a man a fish, you'll feed him for one day. Teach him to fish, and you'll feed him forever". Let's all do some food production even if it means planting pepper, tomato and vegetables around the compound. 4 Likes |

Xisnin: Exactly. Countries like Saudi Arabia and Libya(under Ghaddafi) operated by that policy. They are poor countries which appear rich because of high oil incomes and low populations. If Saudi was 200-300million people in size, they would have been as broke as we are. The problem with Nigeria is that Nigerians expect government to share money for them. Because...we are poor. The truth is, if we had invested the money we earned since independence in improving our productive capacity ie on power, rail transport, technical education...we might have been in a better place by now. Many of these our big men would have even been richer now 6 Likes 2 Shares |

SLAP44: Nigerians are poor cos they are bane of their own progress. Defending the indefensible, acknowledging the abominable and upholding lies to themselves. If not, isn't it blatant that the north are ripping us off using fallacies of numbers and landsizes while they are the most unproductive sects in the entire nation added to their fanaticism in religion and tribal sentiments and yet, and yet some morons in the south will still oblige cos the peanuts that will accrue to them, yet they are the ones funding the entire nation. 7 Likes |

No matter how much/little he cared enough for his closest allies to see “his other side,” and how much important it was to him to show select people that he was no “monster,” the fact remains that he worked in the upper echelons of one of the most regressive and most repressive governments in Nigerian history. Nothing Abba Kyari was to his family and friends can redeem what he ultimately embodied: lousy governance, blind leadership, and political power abused by self-serving individuals. What an end to a brilliant article. Well spoken. What I take from this: No matter the policies or support to friend, what counts is the effect on the common man. If it is not felt by the common man, it makes no sense. 4 Likes |

Nigeria should never has existed beyond the 100 years amalgamation treaty Nigerians wants to defend Nigeria even when they are dying because they were born to understand that a white man gave them the name A Nigerian earns little spend much He pays for his electricity and still buy fuel for his generator He pay taxes (VAT) AND still pay agberos to use the bad road He buys the water he drinks, the one he cooks with and the one he baths and fulshes the toilet with. The cost of house rent is high(75% Nigeria's 5months salary can't cover their house rent Everything is wrong with Nigeria Nigeria is a play play country ONLY A FOOL SUPPORTS HER EXISTENCE 5 Likes |

Patode:Simply because our governments has failed over time. No investment in Nigerians over time, no process development. No structure, high interest rates, lack of credits. Crude policy management. Multiple taxation simply because government can't keep simple checks. Just like parents are living sample for their children, same is government to the citizens 2 Likes |
