Whyem15: First of all, you don't open your mouth in public when you don't have the facts, its a stup!d thing to do & you don't expect normal people to stomach stup!d!ty, all you need to do is behave yourself. When you see an oil benchmark in negative & you have no clue why, the smartest thing to do is keep quiet or ask questions. What you said is what US shale producers are doing it doesn't explain the economics of a negative benchmark, two different things. US shale oil is not the only blend in the WTI benchmark, paying for storage or selling at discount does not drive the benchmark to negative, Nigeria and Saudi sold at discounts last month, Nigeria paid for storage in 60 stranded cargoes yet our benchmark didn't turn negative. It may in the future but first the economic factors MUST allign. The economic factors are what I explained up there, you can disagree with it but it doesn't give you the right to misinform people. How you feel about my response it your personal problem because you abused your right to silence. |

komekn: Some of those guys are better than many soldiers when it comes to accuracy. Plus the fact that they don't use basic ak47 or m17 riffle. Your last point is the message I was trying to pass and is the major reason many soldiers run from war. Your basic riffle won't change much as you are shooting randomly at an enemy around 1km away. Your life/success will largely depend on how effective the heavy guns on your side can suppress the enemies. |

Cool picture of a Tunisian Air Force F-5F Tiger II spotted flying over the capital. It can be a rehearsal for the 24th of June, given that it was spotted a couple of times in the last few days, as much as it can be just a routine flight. (Credit: Tunisian Aircraft Spotters). 2 Likes 1 Share

The Chief of Naval Staff Benin Navy, Captain Albert Ezin Badou has commended the personnel of Nigerian Navy Ship OSE for their show of gallantry and high level of professionalism during the rescue of 11 crew members onboard a Portuguese flagged container ship, MV TOMMI RITSCHER. The merchant ship which had 19 crew members consisting of Ukrainian, Bulgarian and Filipinos nationals was attacked by pirates in Benin territorial waters on 18 April 2020. Consequently, the Benin Navy requested for assistance from the Nigerian Navy (NN) on 19 April 2020 in line with the MoU of the ECOWAS Maritime Zone ‘E’. The NN and Benin Navy jointly rescued the 11 crew members on 20 April 2020. However, the remaining 8 members of the ship and the pirates could not be found during the rescue operation. 2. In recognition of the role that the Nigerian Navy played in the successful rescue operation, Captain Badou expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian Navy Ship OSE’s ship company under the command of the Officer-in-Charge of the ship, Lieutenant Bilyaminu Umar Abubakar for their prompt response to the incident. He was also appreciative of their efforts which contributed to the success recorded. According to him, “from the moment you arrived Benin territorial waters on 19 Apr 20, you demonstrated good seamanship and security awareness in jointly patrolling the sea around the vessel with our Benin Navy patrol boats. This effort prevented further insecurity incidences relating to the vessel and helped build confidence in our maritime security response against piracy in the ECOWAS Zone ‘E’ maritime domain”. He further applauded the NN Special Boat Service team that participated in the rescue for display of exceptional bravery and tactics in boarding the hijacked vessel to rescue the 11 crew members without any casualty. 3. Captain Badou noted with delight the great success achieved by the joint operation which has further cemented the brotherly ties shared by the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Republic of Benin. He also specifically thanked the Nigerian Navy for its huge support towards this successful operation and urged the crew of Nigerian Navy Ship OSE to keep up the good work. The Chief of the Naval Staff of Benin Navy conveyed the appreciations through a letter of commendation forwarded to the Nigerian Navy. CaptainStephen: The BTR 4E is the particular variant we have I would presume, its suppose to be an APC but with the RWS it has it makes it a quasi IFV, that RWS comes with a grenade launcher , the 30mm cannon, a 7.62 MG, and 4 ATGM,s. In an close near ambush, you are probably talking 50-100 meters, we are talking Boko here so it will be RPG's, a torrent of small arms fire and thier gun trucks from a distance shooting at the KILL ZONE relentlessly. The elevation angles of the 30mm aligned to its targeting system will hit targets from 100 meters upwards, with 100% accuracy, manually a bit less. But the grenade launcher has a much closer proximity including the 7.62 MG. That grenade launcher is going to be at least 30mm that means anything with a 15 metres radius of where that grenade drops dies or gets seriously wounded. Instead of ensuring that weapons station is operational we stick a HMG on the top i honestly find that TOTALLY LUDICROUS and there is no excuse for it (our very poor maintenance culture the more probable reason) as it that its comical and leaves the NA open too never ending ridicule. A whole new RWS can be purchased from Ukraine for probably less than $100k but to fix the existing one will be a pittance. I am sorry , we have different experiences although that may be doubtful, i have seen many officers come from Nigeria to the UK on courses, so you know what I am talking about, that is if you haven't been to Bovington yourself. I always find it puzzling, how you guys come on a training course with all the communications infrastructure and equipment do excellently well and then your given sub standard in fact "NO EQUIPMENT" sometimes and excepted to work miracles. I liken it to training to be a formula 1 racing car driver then you get back to Nigeria, and they give you a Toyota Corolla and say oya win the race. I sincerely commend you for the thankless sacrifice you guys put in. 6 Likes |
