You probably shouldn't have used Boris Johnson.as an example because Dominic Cummings his unelected advisor literally runs government strategy to the chagrin of ministers. In fact his power is the same as Abba Kyari and he is just as hated in the uk.

What many people fail to realise is the power of personal advisors and chiefs of staff all over the world, Clinton had his Arkansas peeps, Obama had his offstage Chicago people. Presidents need to trust somebody and usually they look to friends from their childhood.

I cannot speak for Abba Kyari although we were at law school together but I find that most people who dislike or even hate him cannot point to one single thing they have proof of. They rely on newspaper and twitter reports as if those sources of information have divine origin.

Whenever you see a man hated by governors, ministers and newspaper chiefs begin thinking that this is someone of strong values, not easy to push about.
