Nobody arrest journalist in other nations. That is a modern democracy. You have so many information points. Kenya journalist are free to report anything - otherwise, if it was for gov - nobody would know Turkana people are starving. This is what is happening in Tanzania.

For Nigeria the reasons are long and myriad unfortunately since the 80s Nigeria has had an infrastructure deficit which incompetence and corruption have not allowed us to bridge. @ the bolded , I think that's the common problem for most African nations . The main question is what is causing this in your own country because each nation has it's own unique story ( mostly rooted in how the country was founded,and who led it post * independence * and how they got there ).
