They should give us all a break. Unless these deaths are being verified by a reputable body, I am taking this with a pinch of salt. The effort being put to make sure that kano is always on the news is a pointer that something fishy is going on. Now they are coming up with so called prominent persons dying so that we will take them more seriously.

And not forgetting that the governor of Kano recently appointed his daughter as the leader of the covid-19 task force team. NCDC should send an independent body to go verify if these people are truly dying from COVID-19, otherwise the governor should engage the services of epidemiologists and a plethora of a competent health care team to address the questionable epidemic.

Unfortunately more people are going to die, this is the effect of poverty and limited education, more sadly is the fact that as a result of how integrated the north is a number of elite will also die. This is a state with over 20million in population. I wonder how and why nobody is asking of their daily death statistics pre-corona but choose to attribute all deaths happening there as Corona related.

What I am saying in essence is that, due diligence should be put in reporting the right news and not coming up with sensational headlines like this all the time.
