COVID-19: Lockdown Or No Lockdown - Which Side Are You? by netpro(m): 8:04am On Apr 26, 2020 |
With the rampaging pandemic not slowing down and many folks suffering under the pressure of hunger, there is a great debate on whether the lockdown should be lifted. Option 1: Maintain the lockdown, provide palliatives and increase testing and medical response. Option 2: Lift lockdown within the country, block international flights, enforce face masks, hand washing, use of hand sanitisers, etc. And let us battle it head long till there is a cure. Which part of the debate are you? 34 Likes 13 Shares

if they can maintain lockdown with enough palliatives to go round and sustain like most countries then no problem also rapid testing. but if they cannot maintain the lockdown then option 2 should be necessary and applied 162 Likes 10 Shares |

Lockdown only if both states and Fg will provide reasonable palliative items not all this audio one. We need to contain the virus once and for all But if no sustainable relief materias from government, then expect people to defy order. Hunger kills faster than Coronavirus BTW, what is happening in Kano? 44 Likes 4 Shares |

For me, I still support the LOCKDOWN for the next one month Let us sacrifice this little time and see the curve flatten to a reasonable extent. Nigerians sef are not helping. Stay at home, everyone is screaming hunger (which is true). But isn't it better to feel hunger, than see your loved ones die because of something without cure? Face masks can be enforced, but it's difficult for Social distancing to be. From markets, to banks, to busstops, to churches, to everywhere....Only walking along Idumota or Obalende sef na wahala If this lockdown is lifted, na God hand we dey. NCDC are already overburdened despite thelockdown. Imagine when it's lifted This is a very big risk to be taken on Monday. God will see us through 162 Likes 11 Shares |

izzou: but why kill the economy for a lockdown that is not being enforced? aren't you reading the news of people out and about in various streets? Just case the highways look empty, it doesn't mean people aren't outside. I was shocked when I came out one evening and saw an insane amount of people outside in my area jogging, strolling, gisting outside. Even when receiving palliatives, the masses form crowds. Did you see the recent crowd of people in Lekki waiting for food? Even thieves are still crowding, did you see the video in Kano of crowds stealing rice from food delivery trucks? So on one hand you kill our economy, on the other hand, you implement a lockdown that is a sham. It's a lose lose situation. 219 Likes 15 Shares |

VaselineCrew: Like I said, Nigerians flouted and are still flouting it If the Government removes the lockdown, nothing spoil But if(God forbid) bodies begin to litter everywhere, obviously a lockdown will be slammed on us. And by then, nobody will care about the death of the economy 42 Likes |

A nation that refuses to provide adequate security, food and shelter should be ashamed... Everything about Naija is copy copy.. And it is this same negligence from them that started this... Instead of closing the airports early they allowed bubu daughter and atiku son to come and infect us... Yeyenatu!! 147 Likes 9 Shares |

izzou: A few hundred Nigerians who travelled in from abroad refused to self-isolate for 14 days and brought this on us. Do you really believe 200 million Nigerians will use face masks, wash hands and practice social distancing? You dnt even have to reply, just ask yourself. 45 Likes 8 Shares |

babyfaceafrica: You are comparing Nigeria to Sweden? Sweden's economy is far better than ours. Their leaders are not as clueless as most of ours. Sweden had a better healthcare than Nigeria. They probably have equipped hospitals and better response to emergencies. They probably have conducted more tests than Nigeria, and are not corrupt. Above all, if they call for a lockdown, their citizens will most probably not flout the order This is the country you are comparing with Nigeria? 55 Likes |

babyfaceafrica: Nigeria is a mechanism modelled to look like a country. However, the mechanism failed its test run since 1967. Sweden and Ghana are countries forget about Nigeria. Nigerians are too stubborn to adhere to any directive 14 Likes |
