I appreciate your response. I know that viruses do exist naturally and they can be modified somewhat but I am asking specifically "was/is Covid-19 an experiment-gone-wrong or even an intentionally malicious adaptation of an existing virus" ? Also, where were the other "newly discovered" viruses since the thousands of years that we have been inhabiting this planet ? I am not trying to push any conspiracy theory here, I am just hoping that someone who knows more than I do will shed more light on the matter. nitigriti: 2 Likes |

dejidotun2000: I believe Covid-19 is a biological weapon being developed by the Chinese military that ran amok by mistake. According to the news, Wuhan had the problem since December 2019 and they were secretive about it. They are still secretive about it — recently, they've been censoring their scientists from publishing any findings about Covid-19. https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2020/04/12/asia/china-coronavirus-research-restrictions-intl-hnk/index.html https://blogs.lse.ac.uk/impactofsocialsciences/2020/04/24/chinese-state-censorship-of-covid-19-research-represents-a-looming-crisis-for-academic-publishers/ https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/coronavirus/china-is-censoring-research-on-covid-19-origins-deleted-web-page-suggests/ar-BB12wIhJ https://www.newsweek.com/china-censoring-research-covid-19-origins-deleted-page-wuhan-university-website-suggests-1497467?amp=1 So, yes, Covid-19 is a biological weapon of war. It has already crippled 26 US warships (https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/sunk-total-26-us-navy-ships-have-covid-19-cases-147226) and killed 51,000 Americans. Remember that only 3600+ Americans died in 9-11 and US went to war (still ongoing after 19 years). |

jaymejate:Dont mind that dumb head of a guy call sexylassie he-she probably dont have an idea of what she's talking about. Records has it that the longest human can go without food and water is 9days thats apart from some read cases where a few number of persons are seen still surviving after 40days to earthquake or maybe fasting. But with corona virus one can go on for about a month, more or less before dieing. So which one kills fastest? Hunger of course. 1 Like |

Gentlelife50: Viruses are not living things. They are only a complex molecular assembly. On their own, they can do nothing. They don't start replicating until they gain access to a living cell. A living thing can exist independent of another living thing. Viruses can't, so they are non-living things. 4 Likes |

Gentlelife50: Yes, they are made up of the genetic material (DNA or RNA), a capsid (basically a protein layer), and that spiky protein envelope. What they do is that they attach to living cells, inject their own genetic material and take over the living cell and use them to replicate more viruses. More like an alien invasion of some sort. Specifics will involve going into complex molecular biology. Viruses are peculiar in this. Absolutely dead outside a living host, and they start replicating once they latch on to a living cell. Presence of the genetic material does not necessarily make them classified as living organisms because they lack the other core features of a living cell. 3 Likes |

sexylassie2:When Bill gates want it to be? Most of HIV drugs were made easily available to Africans thanks to Bill Gates? Are you sure about this? Go and read up on Cipla,an Indian pharmaceutical giant. They are the reasons why a lot of people with HIV are still alive by knocking flat the price for as low as $1 a day or less. You think if ARVs were still going for what western companies inflated them to go for,you think governments will be able to give it free to the afflicted? Where does Bill Gates even fill-in in all of this? I have been reading silently and I noticed you aren't as informed as you want people to think you are. nitigriti:No,you are wrong. Did people in Africa start getting ARVs for free in 2017? So how can someone say "if not for Bill Gates,Africans would bla bla bla...." The company that changed the narrative for ARVs and PLWHIV in Africa is Cipla, not anybody else. They started doing so as far back as the 90s. No one ever complained about their $1 dollar a day medication,so Bill Gates doing some unwarranted philantropy was on his own in this. Give credit where it is due, learn that, know that. 1 Like |

dejidotun2000: Scientists still classify them as non - living, even when they do all those. This is because they cannot keep themselves in a stable state, they don't grow, they cannot make their own energy. They are not even regarded as cells, more like androids. That is because they don't have a nucleus (despite having a genetic material), no ribosome, no mitochondrion. These are all features of a living cells and viruses don't have them. The only thing they do is to replicate, and that is only done by taking over the host. Think of it this way, remember those zombie movies by Hollywood, would you describe the zombies as living things despite taking over their host population? It's similar to that. 1 Like |
