Let him change to ANSU, check if they don't have accreditation issue.

They are on MDCN list of accredited medical schools. I think they don't have issues with accreditation

A bit of a dilemma here.

So, my kid bro chose EKSU during Jamb registration. He has 284 as his jamb score but he is from Anambra state. Minority are of the opinion that EKSU may not admit him and even if they do, he may not graduate in due time cos they just got their accreditation and still have some batches waiting to graduate (like a backlog). Now, he is been advised to change to COOU ( formerly ANSU), reason being that he is an indegene and stands a higher chance. Both schs are state uni, do not write post jamb exams and their fee is not a problem for our family. Just want him to compete were he is assured of his admission.

Pls kindly advice him here. Thank you.
ANSU to me is a better option here. He has better chances there

He may not be offered medicine in ANSU. Candidates applying to study medicine there always score higher, especially the indigenes. EBSU would have been better, but I don't know if the number of candidates who scored 280 and above is more this year.

This ur info is invalid bro. Ansu aspirants are below average students. Go and check the stats. On the aspirant group, he has the highest score I have seen so far. Most of the other aspirants are below 250 jamb score. Pls get ur facts right before spewing gibberish, sir.

I didn't spew gibberish. Your choice of words is bad. You sought advice and I told you the fact. Forget about what you saw on the aspirants group. That's not actually a reality, because some with good scores may not even come there. I didn't wish your brother badluck ooo! In fact, I'll be happy if it works out well for him, but I just told you the truth. I'm from Anambra too, and I once applied for medicine there and this scenario played out. People with higher scores more than your brother's were offered physiology. I didn't choose it again. I chose EBSU later and saw the difference.

OK. Let me now shock u that I know 3 people who got admitted last year with scores of 234, 256 and 264 respectively at ANSU. Don't use ur experience as a standard. Maybe something else went wrong for u. BTW, I appreciate ur contribution but would have been better appreciated if u were not so pessimistic.

On the average, how many 300 and above scholars opt for state uni? Very Few. Some of u are so good at killing hopes. Next time, u can swallow ur opinion sha.

EBSU wrote post-utme then and I got 296 in it while my JAMB score was 243. I got the admission but I didn't use it again due to financial constraints. Even another Anambra guy whose score was less than mine was also offered a merit admission. I think his JAMB score was 232, while his post-utme score was 280. He was very lucky. It was later that I used my first degree to gain admission there again.

u can't use an aspirant group to get the range of jamb scores for ansu na,how many medical aspirants are in that group compared to the number of medical aspirants that applied for the school, his score maybe among the highest o but u can't use an aspirant group to draw that conclusion

Sorry to say but you're very rude and impolite!!. You came here to seek advise and opinion of others and someone told you what he felt he knew about both schools and that's all you can say?. He gave a honest opinion and I really cannot see anywhere he killed your hope there. This is someone who has tested both schools from experience and he's telling you what he knows and you're busy "shading" him. It's obvious you already had ANSU in mind, why then did you come here to seek advise when you've already made up your mind?. If I were you, I'd have thought about it carefully using what he's told you to judge and make a reasonable decision. What will be his gain if he deceives you?. You should apologize to him because what you did was totally wrong. Well, that's totally up to You. Good day!!!!

A rude person like you does not deserve to study Medicine. Well, I don't know what the character of your brother is, I just hope it doesn't run in the family...

Don't seek for advice if you're not ready to receive one. You haven't gotten admission and you are this proud.. na your type dey form heaven and Earth for medical school...

Y not try Udusok wit dat ur score,ur admission is sure.No postutme
Impulse2020:
Good day everyone, I scored 281 in jamb this year. But I am having problems choosing between AAU and Uniben, college of medicine

The reason is because of the finances of which I can't afford in AAU... I need at least 250k to be stable in my 1st year. Which is cheaper in uniben

But I would have completely chose Uniben, but this is my 3rd time take jamb, I have 279, 270 and 281 consecutively.

I have passion for medicine

There are two options in my mind

1. Secure this is Ekpoma, and take Utme and see if I can make it in uniben, so that I don't put my eggs in one basket

2. Just take uniben post ume, if it doesn't work out write next year

I need help please

Secondly, what is uniben cut off for indigenes please I heard it's 74, while merit is 77

281 for UDUOSK medicine??.... From my deductions, I can tell he's from the south south region and taking such score to Sokoto is kind of risky.

Wow... Already a doctor? And you are this immature? I wonder how you got through medical school... Becoming a doctor is not all that there is.. work on your personality too. From your comments so far, I can tell that outside medicine, you are a very dumb fellow.

Without due respect, you are a disgrace to the medical profession. You are everything that a doctor should not be.

Modified:
I just went through your profile only to discover that even your doctor status is false. Attention seeker.. sorry I wasted my time and attention on you. Go and study okay.. and learn to be humble, it will help you in medical school.
