I sincerely don't know if many African leaders have had that thought but I know Ghanaian president once talked about it and a state govt in Nigeria commenced chocolate production last year, but Nigeria still export over 70% of its cocoa... I just want a situation where d case is reversed.

And I'm damned sure sanctions and embargoes will be laid on any African country that may want to go into full-scale production, but heck; its our product, we should have control over it.

If African leaders eventually build d industries, I'm very sure chocolate companies around d world will lose out, which may affect their respective countries... I'm sure those respective countries will fuel the sanctions.

France is the colonial master of d largest cocoa producer in d world, Britain is d colonial master of the second largest and fourth. These two masters still dictate some things in those countries....

And d only reason African countries are still enslaved by these developed nations is the aid they collect.

There will always be threat, but if Buhari insist on producing chocolate locally, I doubt there's anything they can do apart from sanction, which we actually faced in d 90's and still got our interest intact.

The problem is that we don't have stern leaders, some past military leaders tried but these crops of democratically elected leaders are frail and will always play to d gallery.
