Lexusgs430:On the contrary, Lagos State has started E learning on WhatsApp platforms, recently the state has started training the teachers on bridging gaps with technology. The problem is the private schools are charging same prices as normal charges which is not reasonable. 1 Like |

wonuks:the point is for schools not to be charging. Bills are already exorbitant. Do you know how much data will be burned in one session? Imagine someone with more than 3 kids having to buy data all the time and stuff plus we have a shitty network. Most times on zoom meetings, a lot of us get lost on proceedings due to network fluctuations. How do you expect kids to catch up? |

wonuks: Online classes is not the issue but charging exorbitantly for it and the disparity it will create. Some have even opened for 3rd term online without permission from education board. At the end, it will create more problems as not every student has access. |

What kind of stupid online learning for kids is that? Which parents to guide them? Is it the same parents that didn't have the time to guide them one on one in their homework and lessons when school was in session that will guide them in online learning? Or is it the type of chere-were kind of parents everywhere that IG, nairaland, Facebook and twitter has eaten deep into their brain that will calm down and guide their wards in online learning. You guys are the biggest joker of the year. Thank God, I'm an educationist. So that one no affect me. 2 Likes |

Wow. These people are restricting learning (with no reason). They are suggesting that ALL children learn at the same place. With Broadcast video lessons with zero playback. Hahahahaha. Traditional Education keeps treating every child the same way. How wrong. You're holding many back. To think these Educational experts should know this. |

There should not be a problem with on-line teaching if everything is done with wisdom. Private school owners need not to charge exorbitantly for such services. On another hand, the State government probably doesn't want disparity in covering curriculum between private and public schools. Let us all pray that we overcome this covid-19 so that things can go back to normacy. |

Good steps in the right direction. The online teachings are mostly badly implemented. And if at all it will be implemented, it is meant to serve as a refresher's course. Why charging? And we do not have infrastructure to support it - no light, no cheap data. The worse of it is most schools have not finished second term exam, how will you start a third indirectly without concluding a second term?. Na wah for Naija o. |

Nigeria is a country that likes putting the cart before the horse People never chop, you are talking of online teaching?? Lol.... This is the time children need to learn other vocational stuffs i.e cooking, painting etc... Most of these greedy private school owners will allow govt to start putting eye on them now... Why not upload materials or videos on the school's Facebook page or website and instruct parents or students to download... Lol.. so I go use my 1gb take listen to online teaching when I can download mechanical engineering design videos and simulations on YouTube?? Ok o 2 Likes |

They will ban virtual classes run by school who has the facilities but will open the National Assembly Plenary session soon so law makers can get paid for sitting allowance. we joke too much in this country. So if Lagos state does not contain Covid-19 by December, all school cannot reopen. The schools affected should fight this executive action as they are private school not a public or state school. so long as they are not endangering the health of lagosians. they are carrying out their lawful business. 2 Likes |

wonuks: Please, let's be realistic. We shouldn't talk from one side of a coin, because there's two sides of a coin. What of the children of the poor of the poorest and the vulnerables? To even get a derica of rice is war not to now talk of buying data, fuel for generator, can you even substantiate their ability of owning a desktop computer not to talk of laptop. Please, people should just put themselves in the shoes of these poor peoples to know where it itches. But I'm not surprised because, we are all poor. Some are intellectually poor, while some are morally lacking. 2 Likes |

I don't know why the people in charge of education in Lagos are thinking like illiterates. First the age limit on admission now it's banning people from online classes because of stupid reasons which are partially the government's fault. Fuel is cheaper because of the lockdown and won't the family use their generator for other uses? Does she think you need a mega generator to power a laptop or small computer? The teachers are online with the students so the concerns about students 'being exposed to pornograhy are weak and silly'. If they are concerned about online bullying they can easily report the students responsible. It's not like Lagos State government was doing anything about bullying in real life where older students see it as their right to bully younger ones. Do these people know how the Internet works at all? Overall weak silly excuses, I'm disappointed. 1 Like |
