Okay bro
Unfortunately, iamgrey is right. The lockdown is not working.

First show of incompetence, the president declaring lockdown in three states and promising palliatives for the vulnerable in those states while his minister went to jigawa and zamfara to share the palliatives.

Next, the security agents allow people in and out of the states on lockdown for 100 naira which shows they weren't properly briefed on the importance of the lockdown so they saw it as business as usual. States like Niger, Kwara, Katsina, Kano had their index cases imported from the states on lockdown as a result.

Then the slow pace of testing by the NCDC who seemed to think they have all the time in the world to curb the virus. See how long it took them to setup testing centres!! The north had no testing centres for weeks.

Also, the Kyari saga where all rules and guidelines being touted by the PTF were all buried with the man in full glare of the cameras.

Finally, the absenteeism and aloofness of the man we call president who instead of passing the buck to his number two for such a critical assignment played politics by appointing a SGF whom the govs don't necessarily see the need to defer to on daily issues or do you really think the SGF can coordinate states? Now we're hearing the govs are the one making the latest recommendations to the president not the PTF which shows how disjointed a supposed national effort has been.

I don't see how the show of incompetence, bigotry and corruption by this govt can be helped by a lockdown. It's exposed the lockdown to be a sham.

ANY FUTHER LOCKDOWN EXTENSION WILL BE VIEWED AS CRIME AGAINST HUMUNITY AND SLAVERY SIEGE WHICH THE MASSES MUST RISE UP AND REPEAL IT BY EVERY MEANS.

We hav seen many ppl treated of covid19,why the lock down again?
Many Countries hard hit are reopening biz life to revive citizens' livelihood, while evil Africa rulers are doing the opposite not caring about the masses facing excrutiatin hardship, with over 70% nigerians cryin now fr excessive lockdown.
EVIL AFRICA RULERS ARE PLAYING POLITICS WITH D LIFE OF THEIR CITIZENS,EXTENDIN LOCKDOWN TO LURE MORE FOREIGN CASH DONATIONS FOR THEM TO LOOT.

Hav yu counted the covid 33deaths compared to lockdown 100s deathss across state caused by its rising crimes, brutality of security agents and starvation?

LOCKDOWN IS OUTDATED IN EUROPE AND AMERICA ,WE HAV HEARD ENOUGH! STOP IT NOW LET PPL GO AND FEND FOR THEIR LIVELIHOOD TO AVERT CATASTROPHY THAT WIL CONSUME YOU SOCALLD GOVT ELITE IN THE COZY COMFORT ZONES. undecided

covid19 is a plague tht only children of God can pray away. The white man is tryin in vain.It is a spiritual problem.
Can yu compare 54K deaths in sufisticated usa compared to only 33deaths in nigeria. GOD HANDS IN ARICA MAKES THE DIFFERENCE.

How can someone be suggestin injectin disinfectants in human, instead of openin worship centres to pray without ceasing.

Govts are just deceiving themselves because of secularity of state. OPEN THE CHURCHES LET PEOPLE PRAY TO FAST TRACK COVID19 CURE. undecided

Sweden is not on lockdown and has never been on lockdown and heaven did not fall.. So what is all these noise that bodies will be flying around. The bodies that herds men and Boko don kill wetin happen?...

Why didn't you mention Italy and Spain before they enforced lockdown? Why only Sweden? It's a two-way thing. We can end up like Sweden but we can also end up like Italy. It now depends on how willing we are to risk it. I don't envy Buhari at this moment because whatever he does, some people will still put the blame on him.

Y’all saying you don’t want lock down
Truthfully during this lock down have you been staying home answer is (NO)

If y’all stayed at home we won’t be in this stage by now

The lock down is not working . Nigerians can’t stay at home and are not organized
If they go out it will be chaotic. No form of organization, only God can help us

Check the word "Inflation".

As supply shrinks, with demand persisting, Cost of goods will increase massively.

America pay their own to stay at home

From my own perspective, the bitter truth is that this Corona virus of a thing will have to be allowed to run it's course. those that will die will die, those that will survive will survive and heal. Because which ever way you look at it, humankind is completely powerless. If you lock down, people will eventually be hungry enough or awaken enough to realize that a minority set of people calling themselves "government" are ruining their lives by telling them to stay at home yet won't provide them food and in the meantime paying themselves millions while telling everybody that the country has no money. people will eventually be awaken enough to revolt when they realize real power supposed to be with the people. on t other hand, if you remove the lockdown, there is a real danger of the virus spreading, for which there is no cure as of now. so which ever way you look at the situation, the virus must run it's course, lockdown or no lockdown

There is no pandemic. Sweden did not lockdown and there were no massive deaths. The modeling software was wrong. Africa should stop copying the us and Europe and open up it economies

I think option two will be better as maintaining possible hygiene we are good to go, since nigerian govt. Palliative cannot get to everyone, account balances are turning red, rents are getting due, bills keep piling up, let them relax it and enforce ppe's before everybody bankrupt

This is my submission

The lockdown should be lifted for people that are not scared of the virus to go about their normal activities.

Those that want to continue with the lockdown can remain indoors at their own will to prevent themselves from contacting the virus.

With this approach. People that go about won't be much and automatically will improve social distance. As some people will be locking down at will.

As it stands now. This lockdown is not really yielding results. It may be working for other countries. But It's not working for us as Nigerians wey we be.

So I think the lockdown should be lifted only for those ready to go out. While the others remain at home.
Finally everybody is happy

...or happily infected.

I don't understand what you mean!

Lock down is not a solution in its self!

It's testing and quickly isolating Coronavirus patients to be treated that is most important.

Your country only tested 10,000 people in the four weeks lock down period, while the rest of African countries did nearly 8 to 12 times of that number in the same period and are ready to open up their their respective economics e.g.

Ghana

Algeria

South Africa

These countries are testing based on pools and not individuals (at least Ghana is). Nigeria is testing individuals which takes more time but is more accurate.

Instead of testing individuals they take samples from a group and that sample represents the group. It is acceptable but not the best method. Especially with an unknown virus.
