Ghana runs an open market floating currency and intervenes when it need to keep it currency favourable for international trade

You mentioned Japan. Did you know America rebuilt Japan after WWII? I guess you didn't know that. Let me lecture you. I got time.
After WWII, America had something called the Marshall Plan where it distributed aids worth 200bn$ to European countries. For Japan, between 1945 and 1950, it received a whopping 2.2bn$ from America! That's like a tenth of what the entire western Europe received. America literally rebuilt Japan from the rubbles.

It did same for South Korea. In fact there would have been no South Korea without America in the first instance.
America's policy of capitalism spread quickly in the region in the 50s and 60s. It rubbed off on the likes of Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, etc. China remained aloof and that explains why China remained a backwater until the 80s!
I never said those countries wouldn't have developed without America. Of course, they were prepared themselves and were old civilizations. But nobody, except idiotss like you would discount America's influence on South Korea et all's development.
And good students of history knows why America did it in Europe and in Asia.
