Empiree:First, Jesus never gave the order or command that anyone should fast for 40 days. Just point out to the word of Jesus when he gave the command that his followers must fast for 40 days. Of course Jesus said his followers must fast and pray but he didn't say for 40 days. No human being today can go for 40days dry fast like Jesus did. And also the way Jesus commanded us to fast is not the way you Muslims do your own fast today, you fast like hypocrites that Jesus talked about. "Matthew 6:16-18 “And when you fast, don’t make it obvious, as the hypocrites do, for they try to look miserable and disheveled so people will admire them for their fasting. I tell you the truth, that is the only reward they will ever get.[/b ] But when you fast, comb your hair and wash your face. Then no one will notice that you are fasting, except your Father, who knows what you do in private. And your Father, who sees everything, will reward you." How do you observe your own fast today? By acting hypocrites that Jesus talked about, announcing it to everyone "Mo gba awe" Now, in the book of Jeremiah 36:9 reads: So you can see prophets and righteous people had always fasted mandatory fasting in the 9th month of the year as islamic Ramadan is also 9th month. So how is muslim fast of Ramadan a pagan origin?. It was the same fast that Jesus fasted. So if you are not fasting as Jesus fasted you are not his follower. You are keferi O ya, start arguing but i dont have your timeI'm happy that you highlighted the fact that Jehoaikim declared the fast in the 9th month of the 5th year that was to tell you that it wasn't a tradition or a command from God that Israel should fast in the 9th month of every year, and there was no evidence that that practice continued after that first one, and they didn't fast for 30 days like you Muslims are doing now. Even Esther declared fasting when she wanted to go and meet the king and mediate for her people, so people declaring prayers periodically to pray to God is a usual thing but it was never a commandment of God that it should be observed yearly like your own. Now let's talk about the pagan origin of your Ramadan fast. "Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and the rigid observance of thirty days of fasting during the daylight hours, has pagan roots developed in India and the Middle East. The observance of fasting to honor the moon, and ending the fast when the moon’s crescent appears, was practiced with the rituals of the Eastern worshippers of the moon. Both Ibn al-Nadim and the Shahrastani tell us about al-Jandrikinieh, an Indian sect which began to fast when the moon disappeared and ended the fast with a great feast when the crescent reappeared. The Sabians, who were pagans in the Middle East, were identified with two groups, the Mandaeans and the Harranians." (the paper goes on to detail the Mandaeans) "The other group, considered as Sabians, were the Harranians. They worshipped Sin, the moon, as their main deity, but they also worshipped planets and other deities. The Sabians were in contact with Ahnaf, an Arabian group which Mohammed joined before claiming to be a prophet." "In Mecca, the Ahnaf were called Sabians because of the doctrines they embraced. Later, when Mohammed claimed to be a prophet, he was called a Sabian by the inhabitants of Mecca because they saw him performing many Sabian rites which included praying five times a day; performing several movements in prayer that were identical with the Mandaeans and the Harranians; and making ablution, or ceremonial washing, before each prayer. In the Qur'an, Mohammed called the Sabians “people of the book” like the Jews and Christians. Ramadan was a pagan ceremony practiced by the Sabians, whether they were Harranians or Sabians. From the writings of Abu Zanad, an Arabic writer from Iraq who lived around 747 A.D., we conclude that at least one Mandaean community located in northern Iraq observed Ramadan Ramadan was Originally an Annual Ritual Performed at the City of Harran. Although the fasting of Ramadan was practiced in pre-Islamic times by the pagans of Jahiliyah, it was introduced to Arabia by the Harranians. Harran was a city on the border between Syria and Iraq, very close to Asia Minor which, today, is Turkey. Their main deity was the moon, and in the worship of the moon, they conducted a major fast which lasted thirty days"... In summary, the pagans were already fasting during the lunar month of Ramadan even before Muhammad was born, he only retained the tradition like he did other pagan traditions into islam |

Empiree: You are either ignorant or lying. Many people in the north went for prayers without any arrests or cautions given to them. An imam was even sacked for closing a mosque for quarantine. The news was here on nairaland. The difference is that churches and mosques have been closed or shut down by force in the south. The north is a different case entirely. Well, everyone can see your dishonesty in denying the problems of Sharia in the north. In Iwo, Osun state, there is a Christian university in a muslim town. Many muslims work in that university. Christian's and muslims live in peace. Students who get drunk and disorderly are reported to the school authority rather than the police. Could this happen in the North? His bah police would have destroyed those students and the school. |

Ogbeni, please be guided. If it is the law in the region and you violate the law then law has the right to take it's course. So why are you calling me out for this?. To do what exactly?. If you don't live up north why are you concerned?. whitelotus: |

Empiree: In China, the law seriously limits Islamic worship. So, are you saying that we should accept bad laws? It should take its course? Can you see how you are deficient in reasoning? |

Re: Islam For Muslims: Side Talk Station by whitelotus: 3:08pm On Apr 29, 2020 |
Empiree: I am showing you how sharia law fails non-muslims. The guy that got arrested was an atheist exercising his freedom of speech. I repeat, I do not have any problem with someone following his or her muslim faith. What I will never agree to is sharia law used as a legal basis in a country that should be secular. Sharia law is unconstitutional in Nigeria, You are asking me why I am concerned. Is the arrested guy not a fellow atheist? mtchew |

If you have problems with them, the road is free. Go to the north and exercise your agitation. Protesting in here ain't gonna do you anything. You are just being coward. If you are brave enough go there and challenge his arrest. I guess you are activist. So go ahead and stop making noise here. whitelotus: |

whitelotus: I saw it too. Muslims can't handle criticism, but you see them criticizing and blaspheming other beliefs, even the Quran is full of blaspheming statements. |
Re: Islam For Muslims: Side Talk Station by whitelotus: 4:32pm On Apr 29, 2020 |
Empiree: What makes you think that I cant protest the arrest if it were possible? See how deficient you are in reasoning? The best I can do for now is to spread the arrest among humanists and atheists who are on ground to do something about it. I am very far from Kano and interstate travel is limited during lockdown. Your statement that "the road is free", is silly. 1 Like |

You 2 fake atheist association of NL need educational beatdown. It was citizens that signed petition against him. In that case authority has the right to arrest him. Case closed. Saying "Allah does not exist" means God does not exist. I must translate it bcus hypocrite christians will start defending him not knowing that he is actually accusing both islam and christianity and theists generally. And for you to say Muslims can't handle criticism, it is not like citizens beat him up in jungle justice. That would have been something i would never support. But this is a legal case. It was citizens that made complaints against him. They actually did him a favor by making formal complaint bcuz his action was about incitement of violence in the community. Even in america, if citizens file complaints against you authority would come knock your door and you are gone You can scream all you want. The guy should be persecuted. If muslims can not handle criticism, how did he manage to live till 2020 since he renounced islam years ago?. Be guided

Empiree: tintingz is right; you reason like a child. So because an atheist said that there is no afterlife and that God does not exist, he should be locked up in prison? Dont you think if you say God exists, then another person has the right to say God does not exist? Do you arrest somebody whenever you are annoyed? I cant believe that you are supporting such nonsense......wait, I can believe it because you are not someone that reasons. Religious fundamentalism has pounded your brain into mush 1 Like |
Re: Islam For Muslims: Side Talk Station by Empiree: 12:09am On Apr 30, 2020 |
whitelotus:Did you not read where it says citizens filed complaint against him?. There is more to what he said to deliberately provoke people. So they filed complaints against him. Authority has the right to arrest him. If you said he was arrested for freedom of expression, then check my latest thread where CAN, christian association of nigeria always harass muslims from delivering lectures. The moment they hear a muslim wants to deliver lecture they call police and make report. Please read the thread. They have been doing this to muslims in the SW for over 30 yrs now at the minimum. So why is your focus on muslims? This muslim below was their latest victim 2 months ago. They called police and local imams to harass him from giving lecture. Did he not have the right to deliver lecture?. If you accuse North, accuse CAN in the SW as well. https://www.nairaland.com/5737607/christian-association-nigeria-violation-religious |

Empiree: 1. Two wrongs do not make a right. 2. Your accusations on CAN are fake. The evidence provided was a deeper life manifesto and not a CAN manifesto. 3. Atheist Bala is innocent. You can go through the rigmarole of trying to bring irrelevant accusations about christianity but the fact is that the atheist should never have been arrested. |

whitelotus: Abeg why did you tag me here. You know I don’t agree with such politics. People are allowed to believe God doesn’t exist. However, I do find it quite silly to publicly disrespect other people’s beliefs. I wouldn’t go to the KKK and shout white people are trash. Not because I don’t have to right to but it would be quite silly. I think we all need to be aware of our environment and act accordingly. But I do not agree with this. There’s no compulsion in theism or religion 2 Likes |
