franksunny: Nigeria could give everyone with an annual month to month closing balance of 30,000 the sum of 100,000 every 2 months and not even feel it. Then we could lock down, put soldiers on the highways, leaving communities to police and starve this covid into submission nut instead covid has become the new crude oil. 1 Like |

I don't know why people are shouting that Lagos should not relax lockdown. It has failed! It definitely not effective and working so need to change strategy. For the fact that it works in other countries in Europe and america don't mean that it will work in Nigeria/Lagos even some countries in Europe are not on lockdown. Each country/state with is own peculiarity. Lets take Ibadan for example, since opening of Secretariat and lifting of curfew from 7pm-6am to 7pm-5am except on Sunday and Monday that they recorded 3cases total, for two days now they have not recorded any cases. No wonder buhary and his people have to copy his strategy, nobody wants to die, people need to be sensitised, informed make to obey the guidelines or protective measures. Mind you, we all know proximity of lbadan to Lagos o, even when you are traveling to osun state or north to Lagos you have to pass ibada and there was never lockdown in Ibadan. Are you now saying that Ibadan people are more civilised, sensitised and informed than Lagos people? But I know for sure that their is something NCDC are not telling us with all these figures they bring out every evening. Time shall tell |

nelsonebby:This situation could be likened to the saying "between the devil and the deep blue sea ". With the lockdown, there would be hunger, without it there's the virus spreading faster. But bro, honestly, I don't think this is a period of playing blame games, matter of fact I don't like hearing the phrase 'the government' any more. Nigerians have some similarities with US citizens. We complain too much. We were the same people bashing 'the government' not to extend the lockdown, now we're still cursing 'the government' for intending to ease the lockdown. This pandemic is more than 'the government' and many other 'sane' government in the world for now. I just wonder how those who were happy at the initial stage it came into the country feel right now. I wrote here that we hadn't any reason to be happy but they never saw this coming cos they thought the virus was only coming to destroy 'the government' people. Bottom line, we complain too much about 'the government', not knowing we are 'the government'. |

[quote author=bignene post=89009183]With the above statistics, government is still considering easing the lockdown by Monday? These figures are scary. 51deaths cases is no child’s play. This is a ticking bomb waiting to explode, this was how Spain, Italy and USA started o!God help us [quote]. maybe they are fighting for the funds that is coming. Anyone DAT believe NCDC figure have some problem upstairs. NCDC is manipulating figures everyday to suit some political class who are cash big on this pandemic. What a shame. Nigerians will soon wake up to NCDC fraud. 1 Like |

I don't blame those against lockdown. Hunger virus is more real to them. Afterall there is the possibility one may not catch the corona virus, but hunger is already confronting you face to face. |

starbuck:. I THINK I‘m beginning to reason with you somehow sha. I‘m convinced that covid-19 is real but My quesion now is, if truely the figures we are intimated with daily by the NCDC are real as they want us to believe, with basically no evidence to back up their claimes, why then does the Govt STILL want to go ahead ro relax the lockdown come Monday 4 May? Kai... Something is really fishy here. 1 Like |

bignene: Government HAS eased lockdown effective Monday. How many times shall we tell you ignoramuses that the reason we are having more cases is because we are doing more tests If we should carry out 1 million tests, we may as well have 100,000 cases. How many confirmed cases lead to death How many are discharged daily compared to the number dying MOST of the confirmed cases will recover with little or no treatment except those with severe underlying health conditions that may well have killed them Coronavirus or not. Too bad! The current lockdowns are a SHAM. They are NOT working! They CAN'T work!! US, Italy, Spain & co are recording daily deaths in hundreds, yet they are reopening. Come on, Coronavirus is NOT for Africa!!! |

Maxymilliano: No foul play. The trend was already established a week earlier. The figure would have been much higher if Kano didn't suspend testing for several days. Exported cases from Kano to Kaduna and Borno alone exceed 20! |

This Kyase doesn't know what's coming. The staggering illiteracy and religious extremism in Kano will make Kano a major crisis center in the coming weeks. It was only in Kano that people were washing their hands into bowls and drinking the water. Pray! Kyase: |

tuzle: Lock down has never been the solution bro. Our government is busy chasing shadow and playing politics with the virus, our main focus should be on how to increase the number of test each day and, bringing our scientist to the situation so they can find vaccine. Even our traditional herbalist can also play good role as we are blessed with plenty medicinal herbs .. |

I am begining to doubt NCDC and the numbers of cases released every day. There's Covid19 in Nigeria but the cases found are being inflated for reasons best known to NCDC. May God Nigeria and Nigerians. |

Kimbrielle: Unfortunately this is the time to tighten our belt but we are relaxing lockdown. Ghana has conducted over 100,000 tests and has 1,550 confirmed cases. Compared to us with over 12,000 tests and 1,728 confirmed cases. And our population is 200 million to Ghana's 28 million. The statistics is not good at all. How do you justify reducing lockdown when the cases are rapidly increasing by the day? From 30 new cases per day now to almost 200?! 2 Likes |
