That Steve Orosanya report hit the nail on the head.

We are still awaiting the PIB and the big one, the 2014 Confab report implementation. And to be honest with you all, we don't have a choice than to implement the Confab report.

The General Buhari will never contemplate ever implementing the Confab report of 2014..
And if you are waiting for that, that is when Nigeria will become World power (which cannot happen) !

this report has been with Jonathan since 2012 before he left office in 2015.....if he meant well for us he would have used it immediately just as he approved things that has to do with his crew during his time....but let not forget a government that never abandon it. if many government used the policies or report of past administrations, many states would have grown economically...buhari never abandoned many projects or economic policies of past administration but what we fail to understand is that the past adminsitration had enough time to implement and finish what ever they started. 2014 Confab report will soon follow.

If this government really wants to cut down on its expenditure, it should start with the huge take home of our lawmakers, instead they are thinking of rendering thousands of people taking home peanuts monthly unemployed.

Good. But not good enough. The federal government workforce needs to be drastically reduced. Three quarters of current FG workers need to be RETRENCHED. I don't care what happens to them. Most of them are redundant leeches anyway, who got the jobs unfairly and who add zero value.

Governance is a continuos process. All those posters praising Pres Jonathan, report was submitted in 2012, if it was the proper time, the recommendations contained therein would have been implemented.

The truth is, many statutory agencies overlap in their duties (e.g FRSC & VIO )hence, mergers or outright scraping will save taxpayers money.

There is also the believe that often times, Agencies are created to 'settle bois'. With oil price hitting the lowest and no oil money to play around with, it is time to cut down on all excesses.

A common feature on Nigerian roads:

Road Safety
Highway Patrol
VIO
Yellow Fever
Mopol
Regular Police (black uniform)
SARS
Counter Terrorism Squad
Rapid Response
Army Check Point
Customs (Regional)
Customs (Federal)

All checking one vehicle before you get to your destination!

Few reasonable people on this thread.

I think you should rather commend a government that didn't abandon the works initiated by her predecessor.

Meanwhile despite being futuristic, the lack of will to save for the same future as advised by Okonje Iweala is the primary cause of many of our problems today.

If he had returned, he would face the same problem because he, alongside other state governments and their cohorts almost empty the treasury with the hope of continuous oil boom


By the way, no politician is a saint in Nigeria
