As an artiste, you are to understand what music is and what music business is. If you have the mindset that music is business, then you will act & think like a business person. We invest to get return in business, same it is in music. You can't get signed by any record label if you don't develop a brand for yourself.
To get signed to a record label in Nigeria;
1. Work on yourself/song: Make sure your song is good and acceptable. Listen to top singers and compare with yours.
2. Creat a brand for yourself: Presence matters alot in music industry. Locate a branding & packaging company that can help you in building a brand for yourself. Have a website e.t.c.
3. Let the world know about it: Have a facebook fan page, twitter/youtube account and increase your fanbase. Advertise yourself on social media if you're an upcoming artist so as to cut cost. Then you will attract the best record deal. Thank you.
