I think environmental factors and genetic make-up is working in favour of Africans otherwise we should have had an 'explosion' by now

The pattern is quite inconsistent. Many deaths have been reported in Egypt, Algeria and Morocco. And Africa-Americans account for a higher percentage of deaths registered in the US.

While Africa exhibits some slog in transmission foreclosing the possibility of an explosion, a steady rise in cases over time can gradually overwhelm our fragile medical infrastructure. That is why I am always happy with all reports of discharges.

Africa's rates of patients' response to treatment will in the end make a huge difference. For now, we are doing well.

As of today though, with their figures of 403 a day, Ghana has recorded almost 100% increase over and above their figures prior to lifting their lockdown. I am just hoping they are able to match that with their rate of discharges. Otherwise........

Can we know the ratio of well people to unwell people?
That's probably the only time this data will be of major help

This is despite lockdown, which means the lock down is unhelpful,it is double jeopardy for the people, the spread is not abated while the people's economic fortune is dwindling

So you mean they have already tested every one with respiratory infection in Lagos? This conclusion is wrong until you tell us how you got your percentage, how many people have respiratory infection in Lagos and how many rested plus how many positive?

Very fat people do naturally have breathing problems, especially when they are sleeping. Do it man not be literally those that are clinically sick, but also those that are sick without being aware they are. Most Nigerians as not aware of the dangers of having over 36 inches waistline, that is why they don't do much to keep fit.

People in the village will be better because they engage themselves in farming, creating vegetable patches and planting seasonal crops. And it is yielding season for lovely and priceless fruits like mangoes and avocados that usually go to waste in the villages. It is time to go back to the roots.

Im sure u dont know anything about statistics or better still sampling.
When bodies like UN says stuff like, "the average nigerian lives below a dollar per day" or 1 in 5 nigerian women are at the risk of breast cancer. Do u think dey touches every womens breast? Its either called a projection based on the samples that they have carried out emprically. Its not accurate but its a close call

I seriously suspect those test kits they're using! We should try to separate real cases from fake ones.

You're right but I'll rather say categorise them as farmers.
Not everyone in the village engage in farming and we have farmers in the city too.
But people in other sectors are cashing out big time, too.

Are you into farming?

You have a good point there. But the question is, what did they do right?

Let's attend to our immune system. We need no government to tell us that.

We shall all share our testimonies at the end.

Bro, just assume that the index case that got recorded is the Italian and from there, others began to be closely monitored.

However, the issue has penetrated (earlier than this) from community level. Already, the disease has been spreading without check.

The informal index case cannot be traced by anyone, so anyone sick at this time Is a suspect. If I've had fever in few weeks ago, I am a suspect too.

Let's say Lagos State was quick at raising alarm about her covid19 cases, compare to Kano. It would be difficult tracking Kano confirmed cases now.

It's not about the equipment but poor monitoring and management of cases as they unfold. Just before it gets out of hand.

The level of awareness in Lagos will help a Lagosian to be more conscious of the pandemic and alter it's spread than where the disease is handled with kids gloves.

Let's build strong immunity, it's our lives, not government. Let's follow due process as instructed. It's well.

If that is the case, we would have had the kind of situation in Italy. Anyway, anything to prevent further spread of the virus is OK by me.

not gud...in as much as the president have no other option than to relax the lockdown,i still think that nigerians do not kno the main dangers of this virus..this the worst pandamic ever after the spanish flu and jus lyk way bk the outcome of the spanish flu after the relaxed lockdown was more dangerous than the former...ww dnt have enough labs to test, not enough test kits to fo round, we are among the lowest ranked countries when it comes to number of tests done bt the casualities are still increasing on a daily...cnt fault the f.g bcox i dnt support a lockdown without paliatives or quality welfare wich they kno they cant guarantee bt i jus pray that mayb our black skin or thick blood or strong immune system or lets say the GOD factor helps us and dnt allow our case turns to dt of italy, spain n u.k bcoz i fear for what would happen...jus wait for nxt Monday dt d lockdown would b relaxed and see the total numbers of lagosians dt wud gladly break d gov rules he gave for thier own selfish purposes...las las man go survive
if the virus doesnt go away in the next 4 months which is likely, are you saying we should still be on lockdown

People of God with good heart
Am here to beg for help. As our people used to say"it is better to beg than to steal. It has been akk difficult for me and my family. Beginning of the year my sister had an accident that nearly cost her life .she was in coma several days . I spent almost my savings saving her life in the hospital . It became much hard on me when this awful pandemic breakout in Lagos and government proposed this lockdown . I was hoping that soon everything is going to be over without knowing it will take a long time like this for me to hustle and meet up again.
With heaviness in my heart, being a hustler who can survive with any job available but none to be seen. I am humbly begging the good ones who can help me to feed . Am begging you with God's name to help the needy .Anything is enough for me. God will bless you as you find it in your heart to give a little you have . Acc no: 2148229145

Thanks for your consideration
