kodred: No, she just keeps making statements on "our" behalf and I want to be clear she does not represent "us". In fact, I keep swearing to ignore shim. You see say she don talk plenty before I had enough. It's hard enough as a woman in certain circles without having someone coming out making it harder. Double standard, maybe. But when I hear ludicrous ish from men I react the same. Or do you not agree? 1 Like |

Am sorry to go off a bit from the thread. This goes out to sexylassie about the argument you had earlier, @radauto and Dru23. I watched Canal Street today and I was like if sexy could watch that movie maybe she would not have come here to talk the trash of black asking for too much... About the revolution, it was never the duty of a gender but resolute of like minds. That does not include ethnicity, bigotry, religious jargons.... Even those who are ready to fight don't commune to show force but wield the energy to enforce the determination of few who are ready to sacrifice. If I want to cancel all the leaders in Nigeria, I won't go on live TV to announce my plans but laugh at the idea of men discussing solutions and ideas.... Because everybody do have opinion but the selected few ready to act are called Polithives.... All are called Men but few answereth to the Call 1 Like |

Richdee1:Anybody can pretend to be who they are not on SM be it FB, Twitter or what ever but that doesnt take anything away from who they truly are in reality. They greatest and most battles forth they say is in the mind but that doesn't mean in reality battles have been forth. Some people are quiet and silent killers but when given a pen and paper to write you'll be amazed the things going in their mind. Thanks for your advice but trying to stop a child from playing or engaging in some activities which he/she finds interesting might ends up damaging that child's brain cells. So allow people to express themselves in the way and manner they deem fit. |

@ Bigleaf1006: In 1833 Tinabu remarried Adele, an exiled oba (king) of Lagos. With this marriage she began to accumulate economic and political power. The two moved to the coastal city of Badagry, where Tinabu, using her husband’s connections, built a successful business empire trading salt and tobacco from Europeans for slaves from Abeokuta. Tinubu fell from power in Lagos when she challenged British Consul Benjamin Campbell who railed against her economic hegemony and secret slave trading with Europeans and Brazilians. Tinubu in turn publicly castigated Campbell for his infringement on royal authority and sovereignty in Lagos. She organized a plot to remove Consul Campbell but before it could be implemented, Campbell confronted her with British gunboats in May of 1856 and demanded her exile from Lagos. 1 Like |

sexylassie2: I think the bolded part further confirms my point about her standing against the British overbearing interest in trade and African socio political affairs. She was no lackey, even the great Jaja of opobo was averse to then British control of Africa. You can apply any interpretation as you deem fit but does not in anyway void the fact she was a strong influence in then Lagos socio political affairs. I think it's appropriate to always reference your sources. 1 Like |

sexylassie2: With all due respect,I lost interest in this discourse from the point you could not discern parochialism from selfless revolutionaries. How could you compare FFK,Asari and co with Madiba or even Funmilayo Kuti? You even mentioned Nnamdi Kanu!! I just had to give up. 1 Like |
