MARRIED AND SLAYING: DIARY OF MRS. NWAKAEGO ETADAFE Episode 26 Dear Diary, 30th April, 2019. It's being a week plus since the... the heart wrenching incidence that took place in my abode. Praise and I are like intimate strangers now. He still eats my food and we still sleep on the same bed, but... we don't talk anymore. After 'good morning', 'welcome back', 'how was your day?', 'good night', that's all, Shikena. Nothing else. I miss gisting with my Praise. Remembering a line from the lyrics of that Boyz II Men song, 'We don't even talk anymore...' That's my situation with Praise at the moment. I think the entire song, 'Water Runs Dry', speaks to my crisis. Do I blame him? No. Do I blame me? Totally yes. What's the way forward now? How do I get things back to norm between Praise and I? He doesn't even look at me. He avoids meeting my gaze. He is always like an arms length away, be it in the sitting room, dining, kitchen and even on the bed. Praise has created a wall between us. I know it's my fault, but it hurts more than hell. Diary... I want my husband back. I want my Praise back... I don't even know who to confide in. Praise and I have a rule of keeping our families out of our marriage. Long and short, I can't even talk to my mum or siblings about this. They will just blame me. I am already blaming me. I don't need the judgement of others right now. This isn't entirely my fault now. I had no idea that Kingsley followed me into the house. And... and when I realized that he did, I thought the security guard will come and drive him away. I didn't know that the guard had gone out to get help. How was I supposed to know? Fine! I should have driven him out myself. I should have dragged him to the door. I should have even left the house for him and wait at the gate for my husband's arrival. I could have done a million things differently. But should I be blamed for my ex skewed mind? For his fried brains? Should I be blamed for his obsession? For his lustful desire to get into my coochie coochie at whatever cost? O Kingsley Ike, wherever you are, I hate you! I hate you with every single cell in my body! Oh diary... Yesterday, the unimaginable presented itself right here in my compound. At dawn, I woke up. I wasn't sure exactly what woke me, but I saw Praise seated on his side of the bed. Seconds later, I heard a voice. Someone was screaming and crying and calling out to my husband and I. It was a woman and I didn't recognize her voice. Praise left the bedroom and I followed. My husband stood at the opened front door, while I went to the window in the sitting room. The woman's voice became louder. She said she was Kingsley Ike's wife and she was pregnant and she needed her husband back home. She said he has spent 2 weeks in the police cell and she was begging us to release him. Praise slammed the door in anger and returned to the bedroom. I remained at the window, thinking of how many people had seen Nneoma, Kingsley's wife, at our gate. What would my neighbours think?! Praise took his bath, changed and drove out. But Nneoma didn't leave. She kept begging for her husband's release. The security guard came to the window and told me that the woman crying outside wanted to see me. I didn't think twice. I told him to let her in. I limped to the front door and leaned against the wall. My left ankle still hurts, but it's better now. The doctor said I will be able to walk with it without feeling any more pains soon. The guard opened the gate, letting Nneoma in. She ran up to meet me and knelt down. She apologized for everything Kingsley did to me. And she assured me that their family were going to make sure that he stayed away from me henceforth. And even if they have to sign an agreement, they would all sign it together. I actually felt sorry for her. I wondered how she must have felt when she was told that her husband had been arrested for raping a married woman, his ex for that matter. I told Nneoma that the case was out of my hands. I cannot take a sole decision in the matter. I advised her to get a very good lawyer for her husband. He or she would be able to advice them accordingly. Diary, in the next ten seconds, Nneoma transformed from the pleading distraught wife to a wild animal. She jumped to her feet and started to insult me. She called me terrible names! She said she knew that Kingsley was planning to divorce her and run away with me. She said everything that happened between her husband and I was probably consensual. And if my husband didn't catch us that day, I wouldn't have claimed 'being raped'. Men! I was just short of words and hurt. Really hurt because the woman didn't know what she was talking about. She had no single idea about what I went through that day. Nneoma went as far as threatening Praise and I. She said she would post my pictures all over the internet and tell the whole world that I have been sleeping with her husband. She said I had till midnight to release her husband, or else, she would do her worst. Oh diary... with tears in my eyes, I told her that I hope she gives birth to a girl and I pray that everything Kingsley did to me, may someone else also do it to her daughter. My God! My words enraged her. Nneoma became a tigress. She screamed and ranted and threw curses here and there. The guard swung into action and threw her out. In that moment, I lost compassion for her. And I was ready to support my husband, regardless of whatever decision he takes concerning Kingsley. Even if my ex will rot in jail for the rest of his life, so be it. That same day, long after Praise returned home from work, Kingsley's parents and his siblings and their spouses showed up at our gate. They begged and begged and begged, until Praise and I went outside to see them. They came with their lawyer, who suggested that we should settle out of court. The lawyer said Kingsley will be filed a restraining order and made to sign an agreement. Regardless of where I am on planet earth, he mustn't be seen around my circumference. Praise looked at me for the first time in so many days, and I could see the pain in his eyes. My husband was still hurting. Oh diary... He glanced back at the lawyer and told him that aside the restraining order, Kingsley will also remain in the police cell for four more weeks. My husband met my gaze again and I nodded in support. Kingsley's family and their lawyer protested. My husband stood his ground. He said that was the only way Kingsley might get back his senses and hopefully realize his misconduct and mistakes. The lawyer spoke to Kingsley's parents in low tones. After a while, they all agreed to my husband's terms. When they left, Praise and I went back into the house. Kingsley has been handed his own punishment. And I wonder what mine will be. Oh diary... I have been praying to God to mend the cracks on the wall of my marriage. I want my husband to look at me again with love in his eyes. I want him to draw me close and assure me that everything is going to be all right. I want him to touch me and kiss me and lie in bed with me. Oh diary... I will do anything and everything... Oh God! Oh God! Oh God! 9 Likes 1 Share |

Well I feel sorry for her. She's now beginning to see what she should have done and what she did wrong. Would prefer Kingsley rots in jail. Obsession or not he's still a rapist. 1 Like |

The fool's wife still came to your house to talk nonsense and you couldn't channel all the anger and frustration of Praise not talking to you on her, you need a serious knock on your head to restore it back to Factory settings. Thanks SheWrites........ |

Interesting I dont think its possible to request that someone is retained in d cell for as long as you want. If that were possible, cells would be so congested. Unless you'be filed a case, and d accused is awaiting arrainment, suspects are charged within 24 hrs or 48, cant remember @shewrites you might wanna look into that. You don't know how far ds book would go, consider the worth of your audience |

neloyah: No, trust me, I would have done worse than Praise. I'll stay with her till she heals physically, then take a well deserved one month separation... Whatever happens after that, happens. She brought it on herself, karma or no karma Before people come for me, my lady won't even agree I chat with my ex, you should have seen her demeanor when I tried going into a legit business with one. @SheWrite, really nice story. More impressive is the fact you didn't bring the twist at the initial stage until everyone felt comfortable, then *booooom* |

okeyben10: This might sound absurd, but trust me, she didn't protest the guy and his friends' own cos she enjoyed it unconsciously, while she protested her colleagues' own cos she didn't and it disgusted her. |
Re: Married And Slaying: Diary Of Mrs. Nwakaego Etadafe by Yampotatocarrot(m): 8:35pm On May 01, 2020 |
okeyben10: The issue is, since she doesn't know how to say No and stand by her words, how are you sure the next person that tries won't have his way also? Will her husband have to employ a full time bodyguard for her? I've met ladies who claim they don't know how to keep saying No once the guy is persistent, so we might classify Ego as one of such |
