You are wrong. IPPIS systems cuts off allowances, salaries. My wife is with them and I knew how much they cut off from her salary. Another challenge they have is the issue of loan repayment, most cooperative and banks lenders can no longer deduct from source. Coming to the multiple jobs as a lecturer...no institution can give permanent job to a lecturer already employed.

I'm looking at the ASUU, situation, not others, I don't know all about it, I'm just stating what I've heard about the ASUU even from lecturers themselves.

and sir, I'm not referring to any permanent job, I meant the "borrowed" ones.

It is simply because you are vain and shortsighted that you naively assume you weren't affected by the unpatriotic, destructive, and depraved conduct of the federal government towards tertiary education in Nigeria. Let me tell you this: the government, beginning from mid 1990s, has never hidden it intention to destroy university education in Nigeria, the same way it has done to primary and secondary education. So, any knowledgeable Nigerian should be grateful to unions like ASUU that is at the forefront of protecting the methodical destruction of university education by politicians and cohorts, with a plan to mushroom private universities across the country. Even if you aren't directly affected, you almost certainly suffer vicarious responsibility, because you have relations and friends, who are either currently schooling, or are preparing to access Nigeria's poorly-funded tertiary education.

Most importantly, though, no sane nation toils with it education the way Nigeria does, not only because it is the bedrock of development, but due to the fact that it is the proper channel to groom the youth and empower them to achieve their potentials and subsequently take charge of the economic. It is must have been obvious to you now that the Nigerian government has no plan -- even if a faulty one -- for the youths.

Do you think a single functioning bank account Number is in Nigeria?
Is there any BVN Government does not know from ANY bank account?

Those who agreed to join IPPIS are complaining because of BREACH of agreement with your government and you are here bleating BVN.

Go hide your face!

Did you read that the complaints was by SSANU not ASUU!!?

SSANU was the one who raised issue in this report and there is no where on the report that ASUU was mentioned, but almost all response on this thread is about ASUU, why?

For me, I agreed somehow with you on the issue of visiting, many lecturers overdo the thing! You talked about four, I can even tell you some do more than four cool but another point is that nobody will pay those visiting a full salary; for visiting I think they collect around 50% or so, of their basic salary. So, I am guessing the reason why some lecturers overdo it is because of their low salary! Yes, lecturers' salary is very low.
My main problem on this thread now is that SSANU was actually the people that raised issue here, why are we talking about ASUU instead of SSANU?

wow....

just forget, even "senior" staffs don't know how not to show their selfish interest. IPPIS is just a way to curb staffs from collecting salary from more than one avenue, I don't know much about the senior staff but let me talk about the academic staff.

Let me paint a scenario for you, most federal Universities has a part time lecturer that has a full time job in another university, this is not bad but look at the case of some lecturers that go for part time lectures in as much as 3-4 other institutions, this way they are even making 3-4 people jobless because that could have been a job for fresh graduates.

I believe the IPPIS is meant to cover just one more visiting apart from your salary, ASUU will never tell you this but I will, those lecturers that have 2-3 part-time lecturing job will not want IPPIS because it will block the salary of the part-time job.
I can tell you that I know of a lecturer that has 4 part time lecturing job in another federal university, please, how will such a person have time for his own full time job, he will be joggling within states just to meet the other while not being able to put a focus on any of them, I was taught by one of them and he never had our time, then we run marathon class so as to cover up for his absenteeism.

ASUU are just motivated by selfish interest, they will never tell you this, this is not the first time that the government is changing their payment system, and it's not like their salary will be reduced, it is just those with too much of an extra work that will be affect.

the IPPIS was introduced to create transparency, yes, there are irregularities but that can definitely be sorted with time.

it is only the government that can be castigated by changing the way they want to pay their staff, could that happen to a private firm?

ponder on this.

The FG is also contributing to this, they are still in dialogue to convince the ASUU while the non teaching that joined, it has been hell, how then do you expect ASUU to join?

If IPPIS has been delivered as promised then you can start engaging ASUU to join, besides if FG is actually very sincere, there still other ways to curb double employment
Like stopping all part time lecturing jobs in all federal universities, they know the names, account numbers and BVN of those they pay, they can trace it via this way.

Besides, some quarters of ASUU are evening accusing them of trying to create ghost workers through IPPIS because when fully implemented the school management won't even know the exact number of staff on it's payment record in Abuja!

"the IPPIS was introduced to create transparency, yes, there are irregularities but that can definitely be sorted with time.". .
..... Sorted out when they have short doors for negotiation and explanations to the non teaching, maybe till when you hear they have went to their own strike after this Corona pandemic

I guess people are frustrated with ASUU, SSANU already agreed before, now they back out, it's possible most people think they were influenced by ASUU's decision, that's why the attack is in ASUU.

Thank you my guy, IPPIS can never stop corruption in the Universities or any other institutions!
If government want to stop visiting, they only need to tell the Governing Councils to make a University rule that no academic employee should go visiting in any other institution and they need to obliterate visiting from the requirements of NUC!
What some people do not know is that government themselves approves the visiting actions of the lecturers through NUC. The lecturers are not doing anything illegal by visiting!

Please try and look at things objectively and make all you research before making comments on matters you know nothing about. The likes of CBN & FIRS won't be captured on IPPIS because they are revenue generating agencies. Those fraudsters you are referring to is the only union in Nigeria that are fighting for your interest.

FIRS only collects taxes on behalf of government. School fees are also revenue.

you forget that when a lecturer has part time jobs it has to do with expertise. How many people can do the work of publish or perish? Lecturers are not being employed in the system and everyday we hear of new departments and you expect one lecturer to be teaching in more than one department because of lack of lecturers in a particular area of expertise. When you are in the system you would understand. You expect UI to pick a market woman to come and teach Computer vision when they can pick one full time lecturer from futo as adjunct. It is only in Nigeria that students are fed knowledge like babies that's why you cannot innovate anything. All over the world students teach themselves. The lecturer is just a guide.
