It looks surreal, to be honest. I'm tempted to send something to my Nigerian account!

I wish the government can give us free 2months rent so I can wire the money to 9ja. unfortunately my council tax and rent are knocking on the door on May 1st.

If only the council can just look away or give discounts at these trying times

Makes sense. Now I get it.

justwise:

They still make profit, the actual exchange rate is higher than what they sell to us. Black market rate is about 520, so they still make profit even as they sell at 502-05.

The same way Sendwave don’t charge us for sending money but still make profit, all comes from exchange rate manipulation.
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Mimzyy(f): 6:43pm On Apr 30, 2020
Justwise explained how they make profit in an earlier post. They are also growing their client base in the process sha.

HiddenID:

I don't understand that either but for them to still be in business, I believe they're making profit. It's possible that they want to grow their customer base as fast as possible
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Mimzyy(f): 6:44pm On Apr 30, 2020
Telling you. It’s a lucrative venture grin Learnt they buy at a cheaper rate in the black market. Can we not access black market directly grin grin grin

missjekyll:

I ve wondered myself. is this money laundering or are they stockpiling forex for the recession.

They are seeing something we dont. I wish I could see as clearly.

Chief, if you're tempted, some of us are still in Nigeria grin
And we have our Nigerian bank accounts up and running grin

You can be tempted to bless one of them

That would be great but unfortunately they don't really care about us.

I use smallworld regularly and it's currently £536 as of few minutes ago. I noticed whenever I stay on the app for a while fiddling with the numbers their fee rates may change but if you log out and log back in it goes back to normal. Possibly same issue in this case. Funds usually get delivered within an hour.

Bourne007:
Really don't know why small world emails me a rate of 527 then I log in the app and it shows 466.

Been using them for years now (though don port to Ace wink) but If that's the rate you get which will be odd, it's safe to use

Yes, it's better this way... care assistants are very important to the smooth running of care homes.

Smart government, statistically, I feel they chose the month with the least number of likely applicants because a lot either have 3 or 5years contracts. Sampled a lot of nurses and doctors so far and they have either renewed early on before Feb or renewing after November 2020 or not till 2021/2022

To be fair to all, they should give an automatic 1 year for everyone whether it ends before or after Oct 2020. After all, they are all fighting the war together.

While they are at it, they can reduce IHS cost as well rather than increasing it again later on this year

If you have up to 6 months validity on your passport, you are good to go.

The visa vignette on a passport is for only 30 days.

You are good to go

Have you visited this areas, to see what they really look like?

Try looking on right move, zoopla, ward and partners etc etc, for listed accommodations and prices.

Look more inwards like Strood or Rochester........

Was trying smallword. After registration, I was asked to upload proof of identity. I selected the the proof but the site got stuck and not uploading the document. I saw the rate at over 530 but later used Ace which exchange rate is #500=£1

Good morning the whole house and well done for the good job you are doing here.

I need guidance please.

I’m a nurse and I moved to the UK January this year.

I’ve passed my OSCE and planning to bring my family members after the pandemic.

I wish to bring my husband and two children (both are below 18years)

I want to know what steps to take and the cost implication for the three (3) of them.

I’m planning against August so the kids can resume school by September (all things being equal)

Thank you very much

My friend you just abandoned us for the other thread(intelligent dudes scholarship thread). How you dey? wink The information you provided there is a pot of gold, but I need more information on UK Universities that are waiving application fees and have partial or full scholarship. A lot of US universities are doing same, waiving GMAT/GRE exams as well, but I haven't heard anything from the U.K.
