Erosion arises from uncontrolled and unplanned urbanization. Anambra lacks planning and population pressure is alarming. Citizens especially the wealthy business class are not environmentally conscious. Illiteracy is part of the issue. |

There is crazy pattern of residential buildings in Nnewi and other anambra towns plus narrow roads and substandard drainage systems. |

Kudos to all who are making effort to revamp this road. I used to go watch football along that road when I was a corper way back 2006. 1 Like |

Deepfeel:Anambra has more than enough slums already. The only partially developed part in Igboland is Onitsha which is just 52 square km.The rest is a massive IDP camp. This is an aerial view taken by Obiano.A state looking like a war torn dilapidated relics.Just like a scene from the paleolithic period of stone age.

[s] Utthaan4:[/s] What's this clown always yapping about. Nnewi is about the least city in Anambra but it is by far more planned, organized, decent, developed than your state capital that is littered with mud houses, planlessness, bad roads, filth and poverty. |

Arrewa:U re wrong in ur assumption. I am from SE, Ebonyi to be precise. Most part of Anambra and little part of Imo and Enugu have sandy soil, especially along the bank of the river niger. Ebonyi,Abia, greater part of Enugu have Benue like type of soil and topography. Some part of Imo and Abia have niger delta type of topography n soil. Some part of Ebonyi have Cross River like type of soil and weather, especially regions along the cross river basin. 1 Like |

Anyone that would to see how man can control erosion should visit marina beach in Calabar. Exactly opposite the marine police station near former CFOA. The work there is incredible and outstanding. It has lasted the test of time. The people living near that site close the obong of Calabar palace have know peace |
