Oga, next time, post the picture of the items as they are. How can you be selling already toen chairs but you posted the pix when they were new? There is no excuse for that, it is a dubious act.
Next time also, dont ask for commitment fee or what do you call it, juat sell for to any buy who is ready first. Imagine collecting commitment fees from as many prospective buyers as possible.
Next time, pick your calls and simply tell the buyer you're not selling again. Failing to pick calls after the buyer disagrees to your commitment fee arrangement sends a clear message.

Please be open and transparent as much as you can next time.

If truly my items were as bad as he claimed why did he insist on purchasing them? I only asked for a deposit so I can reserve the items for him till Saturday which is not out of place. He refused and insisted on coming to pick them on Saturday by which time the items were long gone. I can choose not to pick his call as I owe him nothing. The security man informed him the items have been sold and he’s here crying like a baby.

I understand you. I believe you did what you felt was best, but still, don't argue when you're told that asking him for deposit will always send a wrong message. Go to jiji, that's what scammers do. Ask for deposit, then block you afterwards. I advice you should not use that line next time.

Also, you didn't address the issue of the condition of your wares. Did you post the brand new pictures as against their current looks? They may not be as bad as the guy painted, no problem, but did you post pictures that do not represent the real-time looks of the merchandise? If yes, that's not cool, especially for the price you quoted. Imagine how people were praising your chairs, only to see something different when they come.
