The way you all scream entrepreneurship, one would think that every business man is a millionaire and that businesses are immune to financial and economic shock.

Don't mind these people...

Most entrepreneurs in this nation suffer in penury!!! Only an unacceptable few are doing well... The environment is terribly hostile, and not everyone is well disposed to pull off a successful business.

If you don't want to use your brain, that's your fûcking business.
99.99999999% of firms in Nigeria do 8 to 4-5. Even schools!

That's a fact and I'm the reference tongue

That's the popular term... This is because most white collar and paid employment jobs run between the working hours of 9am to 5pm...

No wonder you remember the exact year. Tough times. That’s when “meltdown” was the trending term. I remember one new barbershop opened in my area by one banker who was retrenched.

You don't have a monopoly over internet aggression...

As typical with those who have been cornered, instead of resorting to facts they resort to tirades.

Once more, provide stats to back up your spurious claim?

You are a disgrace to the entire people of Igbo land. How many women of Igbo extraction do you know, that are working in the banking sector, doing well and in high positions?
Your low mentality is not helping the Igbo nation.

Make una leave that guy, indeed it is obvious he is a hater of Yoruba's. I am Igbo and I was a banker before I quited and now I have a wife who has worked in the bank for over 10years and she still a banker even as we speak.

I think the guy is allowing the hate in him to do the reasoning for him.

You're wasting your time on this argument. You know you've lost but just refusing to give up.
DSTV must have affected you and you're now lost and thinking you live in a different world.

Please tell us one state, federal or relevant private firm that operates on 9 to 5.

Are they the only one affected by the lockdown.

And this useless bank donated millions of naira to FG recently

Truth of the matter bros dont blame them.Every disaster is an opportunity. Is not easy merging and keeping workers. They even tried if not for this gangsta covid guy they wouldnt have retrenched.

No bank job is a permanent job.
The problem is as they have started other banks will follow. Is the trend in Nigeria.
Just like kaduna slashed salaries of workers.ekiti followed.

Sorry for all that lost their job.

This government is just plain clueless or maybe our years of locust by visionless leaders is now haunting us.

No policy direction on how the government will sustain private investment and ensure minimum impact on the employed.

Post convid19 will be interesting. Things just have to change.

The impact of convid 19 must not be readily forgotten in 2023. Pray a third force of visionary and purposeful leaders emerge to move this country forward.

Maybe covid-19 is the catalyst we require to overcome the inertia to change.

The gains of covid-19 must not be in vain I pray.

People who always say these seem to forget one thing..“how the economy operates”. I’m pretty sure whatever business you run someone is working for you one way or another. Also whoever patronizes your business pays you from the money they’ve made from a certain job they have or do. Think brother, the ripple effect goes around. We all can’t run business, if we do who will do the other jobs... as much you think you’re being smart and all, for an economy to run all kinda business and tasks need one another..even to the level of a janitor. Having a private business Also has its own risks too...the COVID 19 Pandemic is not sparing any business or sector, trust me in this one. Our hope is that somehow it should end soon...no business or business owner is spared!

Well spoken. This guy sabi die. You speak like a Gem. Please can i be your friend?

Bottom line. Always have a contingency plan. Life can dribble o
banks are capitalist. Use and dump. We need a communist based bank where every workers owns equal shares of the bank.

See how shallow you are calling Nigeria "useless".

may be you are useless but I know many Nigerians that are NOT.

Laid off and furlough doesn't mean that you will be rehired. Some are just using the word furlough because they took Federal money through the CARES program which states that they cannot fire their employees or else they will not qualify for the loans and other freebies.
I have worked for at least 5 top fortune 500 US companies and I know how they think and operate.
Yes, they will love to hire back these people just like Access would too if business is booming but it will not "automatically" go back to booming as soon as you naively stated. Even the most optimistic economist knows it will take time to get back to where we used to be.

Are people going to be going to restaurants like they used to, are they going to be flying like they used to, are they going to feel comfortable going on vacations like they used to knowing they could get laid off anytime, are they going to be buy cars and electronic like they used to ? HELL NO.

The airlines will have to reduce their flight schedule which in turn will reduce the demand for staff, planes, food vendors, cleaning vendors and the list goes on and on.
Pls go to business school or at least learn some basic economics reality before posting trash.
we are very sure access is never going to hire back people. they have been looking excuse to get rid of workers inherited from diamond Bank.

nothing goes back to normal in Nigeria. we just adapt to whatever situation we found ourselves. most people affected during the recent recession are still waiting to be called back.

people will go back to their normal lifestyle once there is a vaccine. it only takes months, everyone forget about covid19 and they start flying round the world again.

we are talking about working countries and you bring up useless Nigeria. will any bankrupted or cash strapped company get any benefit/financial assistance from your Nigerian government?
