Your mum should have given her family members. At least they won’t pounce her and she wouldn’t need much organization.

The worst that will happen is village people would remember her. tongue tongue

Hmmm! I remember giving some clothes (not old clothes o) to a younger cousin years ago. Her mum later called to thank me in a sarcastic manner...summary was that she deserved better! It was more of going the extra mile on my part at that time so I felt so sad. It taught me a hard lesson though. I will always give those who are truly in need not greedy fellows.

You are very wise and on point.

Guess what? During those times these less privileged are suffering from 10k sickness, their siblings are on social media doing giveaway and chasing clout just to be seen as a generous person by strangers that truly doesn't give a fvck about them.

People are just too stupiid.

Exactly sir @bold!

You won't cringe if you understand the devastating effect and power of hunger...

Next time, the lady should go with armed escorts... Orderliness is not a Nigerian culture, especially in these desperate times!!!

There shouldn’t even be a next time if you ask me. Yea, I know what hunger can do to people. The system is not built in a way where the strong and weak can survive. It is like the wild where people have to do all sorts to stay alive. I think this thing is conditioning, starting from small we always struggled for things. We don’t believe in patient dog theory again.

Even if helping families are not different, one should endeavour to organize it and provide some form of security.

There is no excuse for what they did to that woman. That's just a typical Nigerian poor community attitude

I am sure she has learned her lesson. We all learn.

She didn't organize the giveaway properly. Wtf was she thinking opening up her car for those vultures to dive in and loot everything inside? You just don't park at the road side and say you want to do giveaway, how do you intend to reach your target recipients? She should have met with CDA leaders and who will help in organizing the giveaway. They know those truly in need and will help keep the mob in check. My area's CDA shared relief materials to the less privileged in the area and it was very organized. They went round the homes and shops of the needy to share the items rather than creating a central collection point where mobs will come to fight and loot.

That said, this goes to show how crazy a lot of Nigerians are especially the poverty ridden ones. Are they only poor people in the world? There are many other countries with poorer citizens but you will never see them acting like barbarians or trying to swindle you or steal from you. TBH there's something fundamentally wrong with a lot of Nigerians.

The girl probably needs it, but her mother is just an ingrate and it confirms the fact that they are everywhere- online and offline. I also have a dependent and sometimes her parents act in a way that is off-putting. I have had people tell me to stop or draw lots of lines in my dealings with them and support for the child, but I will finish what I started.

There is this girl that helped my mum in her business sometime. I gave her clothes too. I can’t remember what she did, my dad told her to go. She went back to her house, brought all those clothes and dumped them for my mum. grin

I will do a lot differently henceforth.

Let me show you an annoying part from this your thread

The woman said she had about 150 cartons of noodles to share

Do you know that someone in that crowd may take up to 10 cartons for only him and his family oh?
They say the rich are greedy, but the poor are no different.

Apart from giveaways, Most poor Nigerians always exhibit that trait. And as much as I'll blame it on poverty, I'll still see them as wicked

A truck of rice falls on the road. You see them rushing someone's sweat. Even the driver of the truck has to run away or else they'll attack him

It's just an attitude of being poor. I just don't know why grin

If you give money to a beggar on the street, would you say you're showing off?
After all, there's someone in your extended family that you can recharge their phone with #100

It is good to give, and help people. My only issue is with the way Nigerians accept and handle it. And that's why I don't buy the idea anymore

Poor people, most times can be ungrateful. They show this ungratefulness either by trying to cheat you or the process, steal from you, or attack you.
I used that family member analogy for Genuinity.
Not necessarily a family member.
Remove the public show & see if most of these people doing give away will still do it!

You never can tell. You don't know anyone's motives, and it will be unfair to call it clout chasing because it was done in public

We should encourage good actions. That's all we can see. Na only God dey see the motive grin

Public giveaway is nothing but scam to reasonable people who understands the concept of generosity and helping.

There's always a hidden motive behind anyone who does giveaway publicly. Quote me anywhere.

It's either for clout, to buy love, to buy loyalty, to gain favors from some persons within or a business strategy.

Behind everyone doing giveaway, there's this a friend on his/her contact list who's desperately in need of help. There's this family member, either from the mother's side or father's side who's in need and perishing looking for help.

But NO! They'll not help those needy family members, but will prefer to come to the public, chase clout with the less privileged and snap pictures or go to social media, chase clout, buy fake love to look generous.

Whatever is it, this woman experienced. I don't care, because if everyone should focus on their family members, maternal cousins and paternal siblings, there won't be needy people in the public for these clout chasers to use.

People should say no to fake public accolades from strangers who truly doesn't give a fvck about their existence and and focus on people in their family tree and people around them. They'll appreciate the more.

This here is the truth unfiltered.

That is how greedy people are. Even the rich get their own for body, because when you check some decisions these executives make, you will know they don’t give a fck about people under them. They are only more systematic about their own looting.

Hopefully everyone adopts the model of themselves and family.
-Of course we would always have people who won’t give their family.
-We would also have people whose family have none to give them.
-We also have people who can’t ask from familiar people to avoid ridicule. They rather ask from unknown who by the way are now focusing on the known.
-Then we have the people without family.

Everybody go dey alright last last.

This video is an eyesore, It's grotesque.
I support, No relief material or palliatives should be shared there in this life and the next.

If you have ever experienced lockjam on Lagos-Ibadan expreway and you sit down to think about how those lockjam happened, you will give up on us. A Lagos bound road may be temporarily blocked and instead of our people to exercise patience, they will move to the other lane facing incoming vehicle and do that until everywhere is totally block and everyone is forced to remain in traffic for hours. The painful thing is that despite the fact that people have done it in the past and experienced hardship doesn't deter them from doing it again. Time and time again, we end up totally blocking the two roads. It is as if we are incapable of organizing ourselves and learning from mistake. Our case sometimes seems hopeless... A people who cannot even decipher what portends danger to their existence, living on emotion rather than logic.
