Something is still confusing me here ooo, so after all the Lagos City Marathon, Access The Stars, Covid-19 donation, is it that they didn't plan the something well or they were already running out of funds to begin with? Because the number of branches they're closing down is still shocking me! I hope our money is sha safe ooo!!! |

2 weeks was enough to get our acts together, instead we chose to copy the West who can always manipulate all the world economic organizations in their favor. Do we really understand that we are Africans or we think we are Europeans & Americans. No right thinking African country should have joined the lockdown, same way Europe and America weren't lockdown during Ebola, shutting down the economy is too expensive for any African country to deal with. This is only the beginning. We just don't have leaders and followers with sense 2 Likes |

I remember when I was asked to go from my JOB despite doing over 150% of my sales target and getting recognition from the MD, it was like the world came to a total stop. I thought of my 5 month pregnant wife and my house rent that will be due in just 1month Thank God today I am ok, self employed my beautiful baby girl will be a year old next week. Trust me I never want to work again. 9 Likes

Whenever there is any form of distress on the economy, banks is one of the first institutions that take the hit! That's why I never liked bank jobs and I don't envy them! I wish them luck as they are thrown back into the already congested labour market! |

jeffizy: Hmmn...so on point.."they will lift you high today and dash you to the ground tomorrow". I can't forget my time working in Intercontinental Homes, a mortgage bank subsidiary of the defunct Intercontinental Bank. There was this colleague who was always coming out tops in the monthly ranking of Home Plan accounts opened. Home Plan was the primary mortgage plan of the bank. People like us were at the bottom of the ranking, I never brought any customer to open any account throughout my time there. Now when this same Access Bank took over Intercontinental Bank & it's subsidiaries, God's spirit in me prompted me to resign early 2012. A month after I left, the bosses at Intercontinental Homes were told to downsize staff...this colleague who was best-performing staff in bringing in accounts was sacked along with some other staff including my immediate boss. I was shocked when I heard it. I met this colleague at Marina some years later, he was still bitter about how he was sacked. A leader in my church was the MD of one of Diamond Bank's subsidiaries for many years. He was sacked during the 2008/2009 period when Sanusi Lamido created some policies that affected the banking sector. This man was jobless for about 8 months...his saving grace was that he had established a business for the wife while he was in the bank. That was what was taking care of their expenses during that period. I tell my people and anyone who wants to hear that bank work is not the kind of job you should build your castle on....period! 3 Likes |

Golan007: I have not used my access accounts for a long time because of their unwarranted deductions. I also stopped directly funding my Diamond Bank accounts after they acquired them last year, except to prevent my corporate account from becoming dormant. In the last 1-2 weeks, they have been sending me emails like ..WE HAVE MISSED YOU..... PLEASE FUND YOUR ACCOUNT.....when I see those mails, I just laugh in Swahili. 1 Like 1 Share |

Kokopiper: How do I liken it unto? Okay.... You use your mental and physical strength to work for someone and save through earnings in other to buy food from a farmer who uses the same strength to plant, harvest, eat from it, and sell the remains. Boss, you, and farmers. The middle should emancipate himself from mental slavery because such is highly vulnerable and prone to raging storms. |

MondayOsunbor: Okay...so the 30 million people that lost their job in USA made a mistake by voting Donald Trump or what are you saying? Everything is caused by Buhari... even when a drunk man falls into the gutter, it is Buhari's fault. Do you know that some people who have nothing to do with government have become millionaires, started businesses, got juicy contracts and jobs since 2015? Buhari has his issues, but is definitely not the cause of all the problems we may have. |
