All this noise you are making shows how stupid

By early 2022 Ghana electricity demand will hit 4500 MW
Hence the investment, we are not dumb like you guys who are so poor such that you cant afford to invest in your future.

All Ghana take and pay contracts were renegotiated and done with last year.

You have a lot to learn

No one in your country should be served with the poor electricity that they receive
and That is for those who are lucky to have access
rvp20182:
Kenya doesn't mind lessons and best practises - there are things we surely can do with lessons. Many things we can learn from South Africa - but Eskom and SAA - seems to be sending wrong signals about your country's ANC management of public affairs.

But surely what can IMF colony teachers when they HAVE SOUTH AFRICA LIKE STRUCTURAL ELECTRICITY Issues that have sent it to IMF and they are back at it.

These are idi,ots with 5,000MW installed capacity when can only consume 2,700MW. They are paying 1 billion dollars annual excess capacity charge.

They went bankrupt because of an electricity and currency crisis.

Right now they are going rogue and terminating IPP contracts smiley

Surely surely - the IMF colonly if you remove 1,000 MW meant for Minning Industry - have smaller per capita consumption than Kenya

They are only better than Nigeria - I mean everyone even Somalia is better than Nigeria when it comes to electricity.

Quote this RSA
With capacity that’s almost double the country’s peak demand needs, Ghana’s electricity utility has to pay independent producers about $450m every year for energy that it doesn’t need or use . This adds to the sector’s liabilities, which are the biggest debt threat to a nation that seven months ago completed its 16th bailout programme with the International Monetary Fund.

The Hobbits Electricity Liabilities could make South Africa's Eskom look like child-play. Their electricity mess could account for 20% of their GDP by 2023. They just signed along the dotted lines for useless diesel generators...without reading the fine print...they pay whether electricity is generated or take. PAY OR TAKE. I suggest they take the power and use it to crack Chinese nuts. That form of torture will save them 5B dollars from Gold Smuggling - enough to pay for the excess power.

Finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta, who will present the 2020 budget next week, has warned that the sector’s “unsustainable” liabilities may amount to $12.5bn — about a fifth of GDP — by 2023 from about $2.5bn in January.
After educating you powerfully on how you are now a toddler in mobile money sector , you raised electricity issue again, be informed that at the moment , Ghanaian are currently enjoying a 50 percent rebate on electricity tariff for consumer of anything above 50 kilowat while 50 kilowat users and below in Ghana are completely using free electricity for the next three month, it is part of the palliative measure of the covid 19 from the Government . on financial implication of the power sector based on the previous mess, the power sector has bounced bank , making huge profit unlike before.

https://mobile.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/NewsArchive/PDS-touts-achievements-in-4-months-778756

the take and pay option has been cancelled , 1 billion dollar has being set aside to revamp the glitches.

https://mobile.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/NewsArchive/PDS-touts-achievements-in-4-months-778756

If i were you , i would be more woried about already declare insolvent ""Kenya Power ""that company has never stop running into losses upon losses despite taxing poor Kenyans to death . Kenya Power profit continue to dropped despite an increase in revenue which is as much as 3.4 percent to 69.37 billion shillings. that is a complete mess, what is more confusing and irritating is, despite your government company enjoy monopoly in the market,it still makes losses, this is a clear indication of corruption and mismanagement.

if Kenya is a corporate institution, it will by now be declared bankrupt , Kenya Power is a symbols of a threadbare coat .

Now to something you should involve yourself in, you post a lot of news about covid-19 so I think you will have my answer . How are all these people recovering? . We have a lot of people that have tested positive, very few have died . What helped these people, isolation, being inside a hospital? . There was no cure** before now ,so what was the secret behind their recoveries

Nah the world can never share the same opinions and that does not mean we have to resort to labeling people with different opinion to yours

You know until sometimes this year or last year I was Pro-Ghana. I had bought your gov well-oiled propaganda LINE, HOOK and SINKER. Honestly, I always thought Ghana was very progressive - it always seems to appear amongst the progressive nations like Rwanda, Botswana. Nothing makes me happier than seeing Africa countries succeed. Nothing makes me angrier than see Africa nation regress.

Then we started looking closely at Ghana - I guess out of boredom with Zoogeria - and look what we found.

Talk about power. You IDIOTS had serious Nigeria like blackouts in 2014/2015 that sunk your country. IMF came and bailed you out.

And what was the solution for your electricity crisis - You basically signed EVERY IPP contract you saw. Take or Pay. Signed. Your signed Gas deal with Nigeria - Take or Pay. Signed.

Now we are in 2020. You're paying for more than 2,000MW excess capacity. That is about 0.5B dollars.

And this year - the EXCESS GAS deal comes in - this year - WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOping 850M dollars EXCESS gas.

Seriously hobbits - you'll be throwing 1.3-1.5 BILLION DOLLARS down the drain. It's like flushing money.

And this lesson for South Africa - they need to be very careful with IPPS.

Kenya we had similar ambition - to get to 5,000MW - but when we saw the demand for power tapering - we stopped!!

Please GHANA USE YOUR BRAINS. DO BASIC DEMAND PROJECTION. DONT SIGN ANYTHING

Imagine paying 1.5B dollars for like 10yrs until excess capacity meets demand. Not funny. That is Railway Line from one corner of ghana to another. That is enough to build maybe 3,000kms every year.

wizzzmike:

lol Kenya can never produce 5,000MW in the next 20 years lol....you're obsessed with Ghana damn

Dumb child , Ghana is already investing in the future, you will have to be rich to do so. At the. moment we are constructing under sea electricity. ""windmills"" which is far more reliable than hydroelectric and solar... This is our future we own it not China.

KQ got screwed by Oil futures. I don't blame them. Shareholders put pressure on KQ management to buy oil futures. This was the time Oil was retailing at 140 dollars. I think KQ bought it at that price for like 5yrs. One tragic decision - that has led to monumental losses - and saw once one of world most profitable airline down...but not OUT.

Do you know aid dependence contribute largely to their GDP. growth it isn't that Kenya is financially occupied like others , but dollar send in to the country as aids has continuing fuelling their GDP growth. This is to me a very useless growth cus it is not about how much each Kenya are contributing but how much Kenya are receiving as aids. it continue to form the larger chunk of their GDP.

Aid or grants make up 0.1% of gov budget. The NGOs yes have made Nairobi their HQ - because we are the beacon of hope - in a region with hopeless nations. But it's not only NGOS - private sectors, multinationals - like to work from Nairobi - because we are modern country without any forex controls. You bring dollars and take as much as you want.
