It depends on the province. Some province require that you have a job before you apply for provincial nomination. Others require that you should have been working for 6 months. Others 1 year. So imagine you get a 1 year post graduate working permit. Then it takes you sometime let’s say 5 or 6 months to get a job. If the province required a 6 month or 1 year working experience then you will be out of time before you qualify. But if you do a 2 year program which gives you 3 years working permit, no matter what you would have sorted yourself out before the 3 years are over.
Bearing in mind that you can only get post graduate working permit once (it cannot be renewed) it is better to go for the option that gives you more time.

I have an NGO which focuses on helping vulnerable children. The NGO was registered 2016, and to the glory of God we are making impact.

The school in view is Sheridan College for January 2021 admission.

My questions.

The school fees 13,000 dollars(rough estimate) per year. The course is for 2 years.

I am yet to know how much I would deposit in order to get receipt. How much should my bank account balance show in order to allow me pursue this dream and also bring along my family Husband and 2 children.

Sorry about your previous refusals. However, there isn't a direct answer to your questions but I'll say this;
1. You only need to show proof of funds for the first year. So you add up your tuition for a year, living expenses for a year, additional living expenses for accompanying family members.
2. It will be wise to apply alone with your infant child. When you get in your husband can join you on open work permit.
3. If you got refused based on not convincing them you'll return in your previous applications then it is better not to complicate issues by applying with your family. That I believe is a red flag.
4. You need a super convincing SOP for deviating to the field you chose and for also going for a PGD program after your MBA. This is the most important part.

In paying your tuition fees, you should contact your prospect school directly to get first-hand information or check your admission letter if its written.

Your other question is incomplete. For broader advises, you should state if its a self-sponsored or spouse sponsorship and if its a family application, if I got you currently.

Also, details about your previous refusal; date applied and refused, complete reason(s), GCMS notes remarks, personal circumstances. This would enable people to advise against or opting for a family application.

BTW I am very much interested on this NGO initiative of yours.

I am thinking about applying for a research/ project based MSC program to a university that the tuition fee is affordable. My sponsor is my dad, but my steps mum account is fatter than his, so I don't know which to use.

Also, I have an uncle who just migrated to Canada last year but he has had his family over there for more than 6 years now. His daughter is a citizen and his wife is a lawyer there now. Do I have to indicate all this to the VO.

Your CGPA is a quit low to be considering msc program in Canada. The msc programs are very competitive so I think a Graduate Certificate program will be a good fit for you. Also you can make use of 2 sponsors it only makes your application strong. You can also declare you have family members in Canada it improves your ties to Canada.

On the other hand, there are some provinces that makes it possible to get a PR even if you have just 1 year PGWP.

For example, if you do a 1 year masters in Ontario, they have a program called the OINP Masters graduate stream. It is a provincial nomination program. It is strictly for people who completed their masters degree and have lived in Ontario for 1 year. They don't need to show work experience and they don't even need a job offer to apply. All they need is write IELTS or CELPIP exams and meet some other conditions and they are good to apply for PR. As per SOP, you mean I should project strong reasons for deviation to the school and most especially to consular right.

If you go for a one year program in Canada you only get a 1yr post graduate work permit. 2 year program gets you 3yrs post graduate work permit. The only limit here is a 2yr program is expensive. Also getting a 3yr work permit gives you the chance to recoup what you spent on your studies and also a chance to apply for PR.

Yes it is possible. Although the admission criteria always state a minimum B average. Some schools are lenient and consider the last 4 semesters but definitely GMAT, work experience et all can always supplement.

P.s: the primary admission requirements will always be considered before any other qualifications and most msc programs have quotas so I guess you understand the drift.

Yes it has a time of the year and there is a limit on the number of applications accepted. I think it is first come first served basis.

Hi Nkechi, I understand why you asked this question. Some people believe that if you apply for a 1 year program, you may not be granted your visa because ………..It is a very popular saying.

That can't be ascertained...

It all depends on the what the tuition fee of the school amounts to and the living expenses u are showing forth,with that u will know the idea of the minimum amount ur sponsor need to av in his/her SOA...

Note: the minimum Living Expenses for international student is $10,000CAD, u can have more than that though

Practically, ur Sponsor needs to show he/she can pay ur tuition fee and make available ur Living expenses (at least 1year Living Expenses which amounts to $10,000 CAD ,but if the school u intend to go is in Quebec, its $11,000CAD for a year Living Expenses there)

And even after all this expenses, there must be a reasonable amount of money left for ur Sponsor, most especially in the case where u av younger Siblings he is taking care.(if its ur Dad or Mum that is sponsoring u)..., I stand to be corrected on this

With that it will show that ur sponsor still has something to fall back on to take care of himself/Herself and your Younger Siblings etc.
