Oga Ahib, what opportunity does the Dangote refinery present for local entrepreneurs?
I know about real estate in that area, do you think it would be a good idea to buy and build properties in that area in anticipation that Dangote staff will rent?
What other opportunities are there?
sure ....hotel rooms will sell not that 25000 hotel rooms but that 7000 k room .....thousand of depot rep will soon be arriving to load product ....

Na wa ooo, I hope it doesn't happen like this. Oooh.
I run two filling stations, one in asaba and another in Issele ukwu. Am even in talks with the owner of one of them to buy it outright. Before this whole wahala.

Landing of PMS was #140, so we were selling with a margin of #5,. Since they changed price I've been buying fuel #123, just #2. So if u aren't doing volumes, u can't pay salary sef.

But what I see is a battle upstream not down stream, cos it'll be a battle for who buys where at what price. And essentially who has access to $ at the official rate.

For us downstream, we'll buy from the best bargain.

Then dangote refinery is coming, I wouldn't mind doing a franchise if he allows it, I heard he orderedt 1000 trucks for delivery.

If dangite refinery starts, depot owner will be in trouble cos am sure importing fuel will be more expensive than dangote fuel. Even buying dangote fuel and transporting to ur local depot in oghara or calabar will be counter-productive.

People must buy fuel, we must sell fuel and we must find away to get the best bargain in the country. Competition would have been serious if dangote had filling stations.

Remember price modulation discussion hasn't been settled. IPMAN could take industrial action if running their stations is no longer profitable. We don't ask for much just #5.

And abeg we need to talk on a different platform, I sent my email some pages back don't know if u saw it
our fear must happen especially if u location has stiff competition...there no how to pay back the 14 BILLION dollars loan if dangote doest behave like a wolf ... ( profiting in all levels max) ....u make around 30k per truck of sugar.....that there track record

Job and savings. Was an accountant in Nigeria and a super saver
If there's any place you can save well, I can vouch for Canada. When I started my savings journey I had maybe 2 dollars in my bank account. Within 8 months I saved up $19,000 working minimum wage jobs round the clock. After getting out of minimum wage jobs my savings doubled and right now I'm on a saving spree saving at least between 70 and 80% of my bi weekly earnings. You can make it here if you're determined. The government would even give you a certain amount of monthly income for each kid till they turn 18, plus free education until university level so you cannot say it's the children that is stopping your progress. Dangote having filling stations after the refinery had been completed is as easy as ABC. A. A Rano and A. Y. M Shema are expanding everywhere for some reasons.

Yea , u are right, that is where wahala will start for us in the downstream, and nothing stops him from building stations but I doubt he will.

He should be concerned with exporting PMS to west Africa not building stations.

But the market is in Nigeria. Am sure Dangote has learnt a lesson from the Dangcem where the Nigeria factories are profit making and the other African countries factories are dragging the Dangcem plc behind.

What will stop Alhaji building stations or rejuvenating dying stations all over the country?

If you have idle cash and willing to gamble, you may do so.
I saw an offer today for N395/$ for $1200 but i didnt buy because i think i can find better offers.

Dollar will be unpredictable for the next few months but it will be a survival of the fittest.

zamirikpo:

My brother ive been thinking of the right answer for days now. I for see a temporary pullback if the CBN injects forex into the market starting tomorrow, but it will be temporal depending on how long they can hold out.

But u see this cbn style is artificial.....it cannot last. One day one day.....economics will take over.

So for the next 3months if I get $ less than 400, I go rush am.....buy and hold. To preserve idle funds. Where and how is another matter.

he doesnt need to build stations the station are already built by me and u and 10000 others but we cant manufacture the product ...so if ppra/cbn stops imporation next year we have no option than to rebrand dangote and be sure of supply or convert the station to mechanic garages or homes

That bulk purchase thing needs a lot of money and u need to have capacity to push volumes. We were doing fine ooh until some big shots came to town.

the bulk purchase agreements is a standard m.o u between u and ppmc it allow u buy from any ppmc depot and private one all legal station must have ...that what we call independent....while the other u get dealership from a Major marketer ....dealer developer then they brand it total or conoil or aa rano or MRS or 11 plc ....they bring product to the station..u sell to your clients and other STATION owners....this is the business

Nobody seem to talk about Gold as store of value. I have been thinking about purchase of gold to hedge against inflation or currency devaluation. Anybody thinking along this line? Who is into this line of business? How do you kehep the gold against robbery?
Well, gold moves mostly in opposite direction to the economy. So it's a good idea to buy when the economy is doing well and then sell when the economy is doing poorly.

ok,i get the picture, but most stations on lease don't need to have this agreement with ppmc...……...we still run under the original licence of the original owners and source our products anywhere we can.

So whats the current fair value of the Naira, 380 or 450? I think the CBN determined ( though foolishly) to hold the fx rate down till Dangote start pumping fuel.

Yesterday it was reported Buhari suggested some of Nigeria's foreign debt be forgiven, this includes the EuroBond where $10.8 billion is being owed by Nigeria. At the height of CoronaVirus pandemic, all the clueless president could suggest is forgiveness of debt which he encouraged in the first place, this is an act of no shame.

It shows a default in foreign debt repayment may be expected with the high rise in maturing EuroBonds, he who get ears let them hear.

ok give us 2 other strategy to pay up the the 10 bn euro bond amist poor oil prices and low remittance....your suggestion could be the way out ....
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by TotoNaRubber: 8:15am On May 05, 2020
Like you said Okonjo iweala is always correcting errors made by the recent presidents, the problem is;

1. What tangible productive project was the EuroBonds used for?

2. What is the fate of local investors that invested in EuroBonds if IMF forgives the debt?

USA owes China over $1 trillion in debt but the US uses the money to build their economy and waxing stronger, Nigerian govt is the opposite. I always tell my friends, Nigeria can only get better in 250 years from now.

I support the debt to be wiped but let us tell ourselves the truth, wiping the debt doesn't benefit the common man who never felt any impact of the loan in the first place.

However, when you have failed to plan, when all your politicians know is to borrow and then loot, 'unfortunateness' typically follows you

100 Years from now, we will still be borrowing and looting borrowed funds
