Jonathan Remembers Yar'adua 10 Years After. Says He Was 'Selfless' & 'Modest' by References: 9:42am On May 05, 2020 |
It has been a decade since His Excellency President Umar Musa Yar'Adua was snatched by the cold hands of death. On this day, every year, his image fills our consciousness as a mark of his selflessness, typical modesty and exceptional flair. https://www.facebook.com/105479482835768/posts/3131249666925386/ 60 Likes 5 Shares

It unAfrican to speak evil of the dead. However, late President Umaru Yar'adua selected Goodluck Jonathan as his VP but soon after inauguration, relegated him as though he did not exist. His presidency witnessed the first use of the term CABAL in democratic era. His pretty wife Turai Yar'adua was highly influential and powerful. VP Jonathan was so irrelevant in state affairs that Chief James Ibori was the one who was consulted on Niger Delta matters. (Here lies the main reason for Jonathan's vendetta against James Ibori, which drove him into exile in Dubai from where he was extradited, by order of Dubai court, to UK for his trial and imprisonment.) Even when it was obvious that the sick President Yar'adua was on life-support machine in faraway Saudi Arabian hospital, the CABAL led by first lady Turai Yar'adua, Dahiru Mangal, Abba Ruma, and Babagana Kingibe shut out VP Jonathan from government. It took street protests from Nigerians organized by Save Nigeria Group led by Pastor Tunde Bakare, the bold speech of late amazon Mrs. Dora Akunyili at FEC meeting, even when able-bodied men lost their voice, for the Senate led by David Mark to act decisively to save Nigeria from constitutional crisis by adopting Doctrine of Necessity to empower Jonathan as acting President. The rest of the story forms interesting part of Nigerian history. Rest in Peace, Umaru Yar'adua! 192 Likes 25 Shares |

There's a proverb that "If a dead past leader is being praised and missed while the current one is still very much alive, it means the living one is worst than being dead". Okay, maybe the economic realities of his time were not as "difficult" as of today; but at least his leadership had positive impact on the people even in the grassroot! But what is the case today, things go up and never come down! Policies are misinterpreted, portfolios are duplicated, shared to appease political idols, debts are piling up (We're now even begging for debts to be wiped off! IMF is not Jesus); taxes are on the rise (Howfar 7.5% VAT?). 119 Likes 7 Shares |

The best president Nigeria ever had. With all the life-changing policies he made, it's just bad he never lived to see the Nigeria he hoped for. By the way, we have a blood-sucking tyrant in power who is hesitant in making life difficult for Nigerians. The burukutu-sipping dullard from Daura is all shades of evil. Having plunged this country into recession twice, there's no gainsaying that he has anything tangible to offer. His selective fight against corruption, bad economic policies, his support for religious terrorism, tribalistic/nepotistic mindset has earned him a place in Nigeria's worst presidents hall of fame. Buhari will never go unpunished. 91 Likes 6 Shares |

Yar'adua wants to unite and uplift this country but he was cut short. May his soul rest in peace. Gej tried but the corrupt politician unite and frustrated him. Including the northern politician and the corrupt empty vessel Jagaban and his minions. This time i said the truth, without been tribalistic we know the SW are naturally deceptive but they have respect. unlike SE arrogant and disrespectful. God bless Nigeria The corrupt politicians benefit from tribalism and religious fanatics. There u have it 18 Likes 3 Shares |

Dear yar'adua, Your brother have set ablaze, everything you set up. Also, those old fat men on babariga in national assembly are now kings and lords of wire wire. Help us by feeding them a covid-19 slap every 1 ½ hr of the day. RIP 12 Likes 2 Shares |

Yar'adua had good intentions for Nigeria only that death has no friends. If only death is human he could've known better. |

He became deputy Governor and the Governor died, he became vice president and the the president died. He left office and Nigeria is about to die. All those who opposed his re-election in 2015 are getting their ass whipped one by one: Sanusi, Melaye, Saraki, Sowore, Ali Modu Sherrif, Ali Ndume, the West both Western Nigeria and Western World, Kwankwaso and name them. I am not insinuating anything. 21 Likes |

No one appreciated Yaradua when he was in power. *People said he was weak and clueless. Many said he ought to be impeached *They said the First lady was one ruling the country in his stead *His COS —Kingibe— planned a foiled coup *They said Yaradua was a proceed of election rigging (obviously) and coup *Goodluck using Madueke and a host of coup plotters tried ousting Yaradua, and wished for his death We thank God that that same Yaradua is a hero today. But I'm sure it will take the grace of that same God for Turai to forgive y'all 8 Likes
