Friends Mourn Union Bank Staff Who Died Of Coronavirus

Friends of Iwunna Innocent Udonna, a staff of Union Bank of Nigeria, have taken to social media to mourn his death.

Udonna died on Monday at the Yaba Infectious Diseases Hospital after contracting Coronavirus.

SaharaReporters gathered that the deceased graduated from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Imo State, where he studied Agricultural Extension.

He was said to have contracted the disease at one of the bank’s branches while discharging his official duty.

A friend to the deceased identified as John Aderogba said, “Udonna, the news of your death came as a shock.

"You were full of life with tall dream and aspirations but you succumbed to the wicked hands of death as a result of COVID-19.

“Report has it that you contracted the virus while at work with Union Bank. May your soul rest in perfect peace. COVID-19 is real."

Another friend, Over Nwanyereugo, wrote, “My heart bleeds as we have lost a jolly good fellow to the cold hands of COVID-19. Let the FUTO community and SAAT in particular have it on record that Iwunna Innocent is no more.

“He got infected with Coronavirus while working with Union Bank in Lagos State. RIP UD."

Another Facebook user, Elvis Akpobi Majority, wrote, “COVID-19 just turned off another candle.

“Mr Iwunna Innocent Udonna, a graduate of Federal University of Technology, Owerri.

"He contracted the Coronavirus disease in Lagos State while discharging his duty as a staff of Union Bank. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”

But in a memo to staff members on Monday, the management of Union Bank claimed that Udonna did not contract the virus from the branch he works as he had been working from home since March when the lockdown order was put in place by government.

What if it's something else that killed him ??. They now attributes all deaths to Covid 19. Besides this Covid 19 in Nigeria is a big scam.
Government has seen it as an avenue to loot as usual. The pictures circulating yesterday actually shows people don't believe in it. angry angry

Mehn this shit is getting scary!!!
Bankers are more vulnerable this period cos they are constantly in contact with people from various works of life. Imagine The number that has been trooping the banks since yesterday.

Bankers out there, please be careful this period. The proximity between some bank customer care officers and clients should also be adjusted. Some are almost at kissing distance.

Please social distancing should be strictly adhered to in banks.

Such a young man. Hm.

May his soul rest in peace.

If he had been working from home since March, does not mean he did not become infected at work before the homework started.

He could have contracted it from anywhere, even on the bus home from work, or at his favourite restaurant during lunch break.

The only link to the bank should be if a known positive case had visited the bank while he was still working, and he had contact with that known positive case.

Lastly, COVID-19 is a bastard, else he would still have been working fully, commuting to work, eating lunch at his favourite restaurant, while still full of life and anticipating the start of the Olympics.

Who says young people don't die from coronavirus??
Guys, please be guided, and don't give in to the illusion that it does not kill young people, or only kills older people, or it does not kill blacks, or the "Nigerian version" does not kill, or only the oyinbo version of the virus kills.
Those are all lies.

It's the same virus causing katakata in Oyinbo land that is in Nigeria, and can kill any adult of any age, just that deaths are far more common in elderly and those with other sicknesses.
But it can kill adults of any age.
Don't get it twisted. If you get it twisted, na you twist yourself o!
Stay safe!
