I don't think you can avoid not removing some of your Roof timber..

You will definitely be removing your rafters, purlins, and Tie Beam..

If you want any help, you should provide the length and breadth of the building. Also, you can give an idea on the height of the kingpost or slope of the roof if you know it. Better still, you can just upload the floor plan drawing.
