Following the recent Covid-19 Pandemic, top outsourcing company in Nigeria ICS Outsourcing Limited begins mass sack of main staff.
This was after slashing her staff salaries by 35% for the month of May.

As stated, the decision was taken due to the unforeseen economic contractions arising from the COVID-19 pandemic which has ravaged companies global.

However, the layoff made by ICS Outsourcing Limited seem to be against the directive of the Federal Government which had earlier mandated employers to obtain FG clearance before any form of workers layoff.

The directives also noted that FG was already in talks with employers, with critical considerations on labour standards as benchmarks for social and employment protections at this time of vulnerabilities.

The minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige buttressed on this directive on May 1st, commemorating the Workers Day Celebration.

I don't think this is true. My cousin is an outsourced staff with them for over 7years with one of their FMCG customers. She enjoys HMO, Pension benefits, and training benefits. I am still believing God to work there self.

I also heard they have one of the best HR practices in the country, anyways God help those that lost their jobs due to COVID-19

I lost my 7 figure jobs in a multinational at the peak of my career. This thing happens for bigger things to come.

I just googled this company.... they won several awards in recent years even that Jobberman's award.
They seem to have a reputation but were just faced with a hard decision due to the pandemic.

This has been foreseen the moment the lockdown started. Most companies in western countries are downsizing, it’s not only in Nigeria neither is it only ICS that laid-off staff in Nigeria. That’s why we should always prepare ahead of hard times like this. Acquire new skills and make this situation a stepping stone for greater achievement. I believe those affected and the company as well will come out of this situation stronger and better.

All businesses establishments, irrespective of their strength and type of industry have been already affected greatly by the coronavirus pandemic. Many companies around the globe are currently downsizing, whether you are aware of it or not. We have received news of companies downsizing here in Nigeria and if you check the internet you will see top companies around the globe laying off their staff.

This is a baseless malicious attack. My research just revealed that this company just shared an average of 500k 2019 bonus to each core staff about three weeks ago, including those who were, unfortunately, let go because of COVID-19, which toxic company does that?

Early this year 2020, January precisely the company increased salary of all core staff by a reasonable percentage across board before the corona pandemic. I pray the company scale through this period and come out stronger. My heart goes out to those who were laid off.

This is a total blackmail against this great organization. I have trusted people working there and I can tell you its the best place to work. They have the best when it comes to employees satisfaction. I wonder why someone would take out time just to tarnish the image of an organization that has been paying him for years.
