Mizwisdom: Hahaha I’m working under white people o. But we shall overcome. Yeah I try to stay away from black people like that. He came here pretending like he genuinely wanted to know but he was trying to make me look stupid. Those type of black people pretend to be your friend and you tell them your life story, the next day police will be at your door. 28 Likes 1 Share |

Acuna91: It is a long story o. I really don’t want to talk about it, but I’ll just advice people to be careful with these African church people over here. They can be very helpful when you arrive by giving you information to help you settle in. They can also be poisonous. Just keep your secrets to yourself and don’t let people know everything about your life. Same with Africans in Afro shop. They don’t care whose head they climb to get what they want. 19 Likes 2 Shares |

mic01: You want to be in Bayreuth and be looking for girls in Germany? I’m sorry to disappoint you but the days of internet love are over. People are smarter now and once you’re an African and not even in Germany, they already sense what you want. But you can try your luck. I’m not a fan of dating apps but Tinder is popular here. Maybe other people can chime in |

Nigerians in Germany and abroad in general, I have a question. Do you feel settled in Germany or where you live? I see Nigerians here who live in a room in shared apartment but they’re building houses and buying cars in Nigeria and sending all their money to Nigeria. They probably would not live in the house they’re building in Nigeria and they don’t intend to return to Nigeria to live. So what’s the purpose? I’ve always believed in enjoying my money cos life is short and I make myself at home anywhere I live. I don’t see why I’ll be working hard in Germany but live like a pauper and all my money will be going to Nigeria, I’ll be buying cars in Nigeria that I won’t drive. Or a house that I’ll only stay in when I visit once in a year. I want to hear your thoughts on this. 32 Likes 1 Share |

Thanks Daniel. I am not focusing on white girls to be honest. i am open to different nationalities and it is actually tough getting a white here and for the blacks, You know how it is when they are few black girls, everybody will want to be on their case. That was why i asked since you have been in germany before us. maybe you likely to have an idea. Thanks much, I will try tinder. Another thing is that i will like to ask if you know any event planners in germany here. I used to be an Event Mc in nigeria before coming here and i am trying to penetrate the event industry in germany. i mean for pple who are having their weddings, birthdays etc. If u have an idea on how to go about that i will appreciate. Thanks a lot for sharing ur thoughts here. most pple wont understand the sacrifrice you making. Life in germany can be very tough, u have no time for urself. Thumbs up bro. Danielhouston: 1 Like |

Danielhouston:Personally, I feel almost settled ( almost because, the next goal is to have a German Passport ). Funny as it may sound, we all left Nigeria for one reason and if almost all the boxes have been ticked, why not take the prized jewel and move ahead. The green passport unfortunately has more or less no value. However, I would want to experience life in Asia as a different national (Japan or Singapore to be precise), before I can conclude. UK/USA is a no no, Canada too cold for me. This is an individual thing, some people like showing off or oppressing their needy kinsmen, or they want to portray a successfull image of (I don make am). Some would say it is some kind of investments, but we all know most often time, how this kind of stories end. As for me, I will always place my money where my mouth is. My goal is just to live my life, and enjoy the proceeds of my hardwork, help those who need help without enabling any sense of entitlement. This is an interesting topic. 17 Likes 1 Share |

Danielhouston: I think it varies. Some people don't want to live in Germany forever, hence they try to invest back home so once it's their retirement, they will go back and enjoy their investment. This is my opinion though, from what I've observed. I'm still a student, so I don't feel that settled just yet, but I have my family here so I feel somewhat settled, if that makes sense 17 Likes 2 Shares |

mic01: Event planning here is a big deal. Germans are not people that do everything, aka “I too know”. They rather leave it to the professionals and pay them. That’s why people learn what they focus on. I don’t know event planners personally but I know they make a lot of money. You can be a freelancer or work for a company. You will get work in that area cos companies are always hiring them for their events and parties, contract based. Also weddings and other events. You’d just have to learn to do it the German way and be ready to make contracts. They don’t believe in word of mouth, if it’s not on paper, it’s not safe. You’ll also need to speak German for that otherwise they won’t trust you. What’s the point of hiring someone who cannot understand what you’re saying, to plan your event? 12 Likes |

janettee: You are on point @ bolded, but I do ask myself, with the kind of contribution I pay monthly. If after working for 30years, why should I leave my contributions and go back home? We all know old age come with different ailment, can i get top notch medical aid in Nigeria? Will my children follow me back to Nigeria? I feel, if you do not pay that much into the social system, then you have nothing to lose, when you want to retire. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

willy2000: I think you can collect the money you contributed to your retirement, you should research more on that if you are interested. I understand what you saying though but you know old people here are generally very lonely, I think going back to Nigeria is a great option, I might even consider that. 3 Likes |

willy2000: A passport good but isn't always your ticket to acceptance, in real life, I have friends who are citizens abroad but do you know they seem more concerned about happenings here than I am. They flood my whatsapp with updates on covid19 here despite the fact that the virus is committing more havoc over there? they also seem less concerned about where they live(3 are citizens). One watches nothing but Nigerian movies and T...V...Ceeee, I know it's because they haven't been accepted over there and believe me they are passport holders. 12 Likes 1 Share |

Danielhouston:I have lived in the UK for close to 10 years now. I do not feel settled and sometimes feel I made a mistake (I felt like that yesterday as well). Unlike most, I did not move here for greener pasture as the grass was greener back home and took a pay cut to accept an offer. I wanted to experience wht it meant to work in an international organisation and it felt like a good decision the first few months but I later realised it was more or less the same. I just didn't know the professional terms for what I was doing back home plus it's done better and with less bureaucracy. I hope to return once I get my passport (Since I have laboured and spent this long here I might as well get it) and find a good job, perhaps commensurate to what I left back home. I have learned a lot and some of the things I know now I may never have known or would have known years later but for me home is where I come from. I have a house (mortgage) and pretty comfortable but still feel I can achieve more back home. That is just me and for others, it might be different. 21 Likes |

Mizwisdom: Well, like I said earlier, living in Asia (singapore or Japan) is still something I would consider but certainly not as a Nigerian. So, getting a passport that would enable migration easily is surely a ticket. 7 Likes |

5gee:I understand this. I've heard it from a close friend before. The set of people that feel more fulfilled abroad are people looking for greener pastures or something of such. The few that likely have it better at home just travel out most times for vacations rather. Because some of us still believe there is no place like home, especially when u have it better at home. But it's okay, I'm sure u will figure it out 5 Likes |

Black girls here are hard to understand. Some of them date white boys, some are not interested in anybody, whether white or black. They don’t trust black men. The ones who have papers always think any black man coming close to them only wants document. You will find most of them in the African churches doing God’s work until they get pregnant for a brother in the church and eventually marry. Some of them just get pregnant for white men to get papers and be single moms. They refuse to get a job either because they get child support and money from the government. All they do is sit at home and rub cream. Black marriages here also mostly end up in disasters. The black men bring their wives from Nigeria, they think they can control the wife like they would in Nigeria, but the Nigerian girl becomes exposed and don’t take the bullsh*t. Marriage ends in disaster. There’s also a lot of domestic violence in black marriages, black men beating their wives. I’ve seen that one. Sometimes the wife will not want to call police on her husband so he won’t get in trouble, but the foolish man will keep beating her. Such marriages usually become topic of gossip in Afro shops. 41 Likes 2 Shares |

This one may offend some people but this thread is about knowledge and honesty. Please no judgement either. There’s a lot prostitution going on here, we call them “Escort”. Both black men and women do it. It is a top secret and they’ll never tell you. You’ll just see that one black friend that has no job but is always traveling around and spending money. Well, if you look closely, they are escorts. Most black men who do it are refugees and those without papers, who can’t get a job but have to survive. They are also mostly straight guys and they sleep with white men. Some of them have wives back home in Nigeria. They make A LOT of money from it, even more than those with jobs. They can make up to €150 - €200 an hour or €1000 overnight for sex. Imagine when you sleep with 10 people in a day. Prostitution in Germany is legal but you’d have to pay tax because it is considered a job. Most of them don’t pay tax though. The police in Germany turn a blind eye to those things. They have more important things to worry about. Some of the boys/girls also come from Italy. They escort around Europe and go back to Italy where they live. Some countries like Switzerland give them tough time. Some of them have gotten in trouble where their clients overdosed on drugs, or the clients call police on them after the agreement goes bad. Some also steal from the clients. The police don’t give these cases top priority. Not only blacks do this. There are more Latino and white escorts as well. So yeah, there it is. 19 Likes 1 Share |
