This is a good effort to raise money for the state. But this is misplaced priority. What about empowering the people? Hopefully, there is access to potable water in every home of Akwa Ibom. In the north, the misplaced priority is building fly overs, when essential services are still absent. |

you see why i said we are a useless bunch based on the situation on ground with the grounding of flights and the uncertainty of the airline industry due to covid Nigerian leaders are still wasting the limited resources of the country in purchasing air crafts that wont be used. based on the state of things we should be focusing on building more isolation centres and wards and also saving to handle the needs of the less privileged during this times. but instead its to purchase aircraft that you are focused on. can we as youths get our acts together and cleanup the Nigerian political sphere haba arnt we tired of useless leaders we have inherited from our fathers. WE NEED A REVOLUTION NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Cakephp: There are many other oil companies that have operations in Akwa Ibom only that ExxonMobil is the most notable firm. Yes, ExxonMobil corporate headquarters is in Lagos but her major operational base is in Eket and environs. So, it's not true that there's no oil company situated in the state. Regarding factories, although I've no pictures but people residing there have attested that they are operating and have workers. 2 Likes |

Cakephp:you're not guided by the truth. There are corked oil wells belonging to shell in Akwa Ibom. I even have one in my family land in Onna L.G.A. Why do you think shell carries out JV enhancement programs and scholarship in the state? |

GreatResearcher1: It appeared you are the dullest person in West Africa. As an astute investor, I understand that airplanes are at their cheapest prices now due to the almost zero flight activities. You invest when raw materials are at their cheapest prices . If Mecca was running its pilgrimage activities, northern Nigeria would participate in spite of covid19-That is bad investment, not this very one 1 Like |

ubcandid: Exactly, especially in Nigeria where there are only few lucrative routes due to low passengers load. So while ACMI, personnel cost and overhead costs not ever going to so down, revenues fluctuate like mad. Even after this whole COVID-19, the airlines in Nigeria will be needing stimulus to restart with especially 'C' and 'D' checks of many airplanes likely to be due. It is not a business that state government should get into. More so as it adds no social benefits to the generality of Akaka Ibom people. |

gnykelly:look at South Africa, Ethopia and Kenya airways, even with some partnering with foreign international operators like lufthansa, they are seriously struggling to stay above water. It's like S.A airways has even folded up. |
